  1. So, we can't get a 1Bman this winter? They are a dime a dozen. BTW, what is the Schwarber option specifically like?
  2. We shouldn't even count on 2023 for Casas. I think he'll be ready, but it is far from certain.
  3. LOL. We are talking about 2023. There's a long time between this past deadline and 2023 to acquire a 1Bman, if Schwarber doesn't work out there and has to be moved to DH or LF.
  4. True, but I'm tired of calling him a liar.
  5. I guess they did not want to bench Verdugo, Kike or Arroyo.
  6. Both hammies are not stretched.
  7. I think we keep Duran over Cordero, once 1B gets settled. If that is September 1st, we keep em all up.
  8. I've given up on Richards. I'd give Perez another start or two. I'm not sure Perez can pitch from the pen, not because I think he's worse than Richards, though. I'm clinging to hope for Ockimey, because I had him as my "sleeper prospect" two years in a row- way back when...
  9. Then, it was a very bad pick to start with. The high K rate is not what it used to be. Half the league has high K rates.
  10. So optimistic, you are.
  11. We're not actually trying Cordero.
  12. Our BAbip is shockingly higher than any other contender in than AL.
  13. The silence from the "see I was right about calling up Duran fan club" is deafening.
  14. Which hammy did Schwarber pull? His "stretch" one or the other?
  15. Yup. It's the damn defense and super high BAbip that is killing us.
  16. I think they give Richards a shot in the pen. I'm not sure there is room for him, let alone him and Perez.
  17. You neglected to respond to the point about getting help in 2022 from Houck, Whitlock, Seabold and Bazardo. That's hardly nothing. (True, some will no longer be called prospects, but they will be adding innings and changing roles.)
  18. That 30% K rate was based on a horrific start. He had improved over the season. I think Fabian will be a beast,
  19. A couple foolish trades and a hot streak is all it took?
  20. Ockimey has done real well after a slow first month.
  21. per fangraphs... Sox rankings in Team SP'ing fWAR 1. CWS 12.9 2. NYY 10.9 3. OAK 10.4 4. BOS 9.3 5. HOU 8.6 6. TBR 7.8 (Glasnow out all year) 10. TOR 5.0 12. SEA 4.4 (The Yanks are currently not a PO team, and Oak looks like a WC team.) xFIP 1. CWS 3.80 2. TBR 3.87 3. LAA 3.98 4. TOR 3.99 T5. HOU 4.05 T5. BOS 4.05 T5. Oak 4.05 8. NYY 4.10 (Pretty bunched up) BAbip 1. BOS .331 (a discredit to our D) 6. OAK .292 9. TOR .286 11. NYY .280 12. CWS .278 15. HOU .262 ERA- 1. CWS 79 2. HOU 85 3. TOR 87 T4. NYY 87 T4. OAK 87 6. TBR 95 8. BOS 102 We are 13th in WHIP at 1.39. Also, can we stop saying our pen is over-worked. We have gone with 8 RP'ers most of the season, and our starters are 4th in the AL in IP. Guys like Barnes may be on pace for narrowly breaking their season IP mark, but he is facing less batters and throwing less pitches to do so.
  22. I hear you, but if Schwarer plays 1B, there was no need for Schoop. I, too had hoped we'd get a guy like Jon Gray. Maybe Bloom saw Sale replacing Richards, Houck replacing Perez and Gray as not much better than Pivetta, if at all better. It will be interesting to see what they do with Richards and Perez, since we added pen depth, and Sawamuara and DHern will return from the IL, too.
  23. 100% Kimmi. 100%
  24. Bogey and Vaz look like they need a week off- maybe JD, too. When Arroyo and Schwarber join the team, maybe they can get a few days off.
