  1. I'm wondering, if Bloom is thinking of trading Renfroe (or Dalbec) to make room for Schwarber, or is okay with Kike at 2B and Verdugo in CF. I hope not the latter.
  2. This reeks of Martin Perez type hopes but at $2.5M more. Sure, he has some stats that look favorable, but this is a strange reach for a team like the Dodgers. He seems like a 6th starter type for them, and that's a lot of money for that role.
  3. To me, very much so, and I like Matz! Who knows what our winter spending budget is, or how Bloom places value on ERod vs Matz or other starters out there.
  4. The pissed off a lot of fans. I'm not sure I'd say "lost." You know, you guys still spent a lot. Cashman did well to dump Ottavino's deal. (That's about the only good thing I can find.)
  5. You may very well be right. There will be a lot of teams willing to pay him a lot. He's still pretty young and has been pitching with an horrific defense behind him. GMs know this. We'll probably settle on Matz at $12M x 4.
  6. Thanks for the info.
  7. Trade Dalbec, yesterday!!!!!
  8. They were a bit "frugal," this year. I doubt they are in 2022.
  9. I picked Matz coming here on the MLBTR FA selection contest. I also picked Graveman and ERod & Jon Gray, but I think we sign just 2 SP'er not 3.
  10. Maybe he meant Kike to 2B to make room for an OF'er.
  11. But only one, if any. I wonder, if Bloom is thinking of trading Renfroe, if he does add an OF'er. (I suppose he could trade Verdugo, instead.)
  12. I made it 12 just for her.
  13. I'm guessing a decent deal but maybe only 3 years- something like $19M x 3. Maybe $17M x 4 (like Eovaldi) $16M x 5?
  14. This is 2021 only and players who met the min games requirement.
  15. They are Dombo's wet dreams. Mine would involve Scherzer, Montas and Graveman.
  16. fWAR per game (110+ games) .047 Harper .047 Trea Turner .046 Tatis .045 S Marte .044 Soto .043 Posey (just retired) .042 Guerrero .041 Semien .041 J Ramirez .040 B Crawford .039 Correa .039 T O'Neill (.039 C Seager in 95 games) .037 Judge .036 Bogey .036 Altuve .035 B Reynolds .035 B Lowe .035 TAnderson .034 Muncy .034 K Tucker .033 Mullins .032 Ohtani (not pitching) .032 Olsen .032 Realmuto .032 Betts .031 Goldschmidt .031 Bichette .030 Devers Other Sox: .028 Kike .027 Schwarber .020 JD .014 Verdugo .013 Renfroe .005 Dalbec .004 Vaz fWAR per GS .268 Burnes .228 Wheeler .180 Scherzer .177 Col (.130 Othani in 23 GS'd) Sox .133 ERod .073 Pivetta .175 Eovaldi
  17. He would on... Fantasy Island!
  18. "Boss! Dee plane! Dee plane!" Sign Schwarber to play LF. Sign Bryant to play 3B. Sign Semien to play SS. Move Bogey to 2B. Move Devers to 1B. Trade Renfroe, Dalbec & Casas for pitching. The 2022 Line-Up: 1. Semien SS 2. Devers 1B 3. Bryant 3B 4. Bogey 2B 5. Schwarber LF 6. JD DH 7. Kike CF 8. Verdugo RF 9. Vaz C
  19. No doubt, fangraphs is not friendly to Devers' D. The DRS is not nice to both Devers and Bogey. B-R has Bogey at +0.1 dWAR since 2016 and +0.4 since 2018, so they see him as improving, despite his best season being 2015 (+0.7). B-R seems a little kinder to Devers than fangraphs, but they still have him negative, as he should be: -2.2 dWAR since 2017 -1.2 since 2019, including a 0.0 year in '19. He appears to be getting worse since 2019.
  20. What would you guess? $17M x 5? $19M x 4?
  21. Okay. I never heard it called DEF RAR, but there is a stat called RAR and it's not about only D.
  22. ERod Offered a Multi-Year Deal by Sox https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/11/red-sox-rumors-eduardo-rodriguez-multi-year-offer.html
  23. Let's not forget that Devers just turned 25 and will be 25 all next season. He's has more PAs at 3B than anyone else since 2019. He's 2-3 years from the meat of prime. His average 162 game numbers since 2019 (ages 22-24): .290 36 119 (86 xbh) .886 OPS Mookie (22-24): .292 26 104 (77 xbh and .842 OPS) Bogey (22-24): .296 13 81 (52 xbh and .776 OPS) Devers is the one we can't let get away! Devers Forevers!
  24. Or, Kyle to LF, Verdugo to RF, Kike stays in CF and Iggy pairs with Arroyo at 2B and Casas with Dalbec at 1B. (Renfroe is the expensive 4th OF'er or is traded for a RP'er.)
  25. Freeman may be bad, but he's likely an upgrade over Dalbec, on D. Not that I want to sign any 1Bman/DH types, this year.
