As bad as this year has been, this is the worst game, so far.

You don't think cold weather can have any affect, just because a few teams ahead of the Sox did not drop off a cliff by as much? I'm not saying it's a major factor, but I do think it plays a role. We had a lot of hitters, last year, that took off at some point in May and June. Maybe the dead ball is 50%, the slumping is 40% and the cold weather 10%. Who knows? Why not tell us your opinion?

You did not ask about our placement. You asked about why the Sox are having a "power outage." The fact that the whole league is, has to be part of it. I never said it affected all teams "EQUALLY." You did. Yes, it has affected us more than anyone else, and maybe, and this is just my opinion in response to your question, the rest is due to cold weather and all but 3 guys slumping at the same time. (Plus, even the 3 non-slumpers, are low in HRs compared to previous seasons.) Do you have another reason to add, other than the Red Sox just plain suck?

I never said we played the coldest games or that nobody had more HRs while playing in many cold games. The fact that a few teams have more homers in colder weather does not mean it cannot be a factor. I just suggested, it might be part of the answer, along with slumping and the dead ball.

A look at team ISO numbers since 2018 (30 teams x 5 seasons= 150 sample sizes) Only the NYY crack the top 45 (at #45 at .180) out of teams from 2022. MIL is 47th at .179. The last 5 teams are all from 2022, and the Sox are not one of them. (We are #144/150.) 9 of the bottom 11 are from 2022. 13 out of the bottom 17, too. (16 out of 25 and on and on...) This certainly can explain part of our lack of HRs.

Yes, and many teams have less homers, too. That is why it might be PART of the answer. Many teams have also not played in cold weather as much as the Sox. Many other teams do not have all but 3 players slumping at the same time.

It's still early, and hitting is down across the board. I think these guys will all rebound. How far is yet to be determined.

Word was they limited Seabold's inning in his previous start, so he'd be ready to start, today. I have to think he'd have done better than Brasier & Co. Call up Seabold or Winckowsk, ASAP. Call up Fizty or Casas. Call up Duran. Promote some guys to fill their slots.

Congrats to the Celtics. They have built a fine team with more good pieces than my Bucks. They earned this series win. Not having Middleton hurt the Bucks, but we still had our chances. I never expected Grant Williams to be the 7th game difference maker, but the Celts have done this over and over. Another game, it was Horford. You guys have nice support people beyond your solid 3: Tatum, Brown & Smart. Bets of luck. Just don't let the Warriors win it all. I think you'll beat the Heat.

I did not know you asked about trusting Bloom. I think, if you read and understood my posts, you'd know my answer is yes. I trust Bloom to build a winning team in 2023 and beyond. I think he is building the farm up for the extended future, and we've yet to see those results, which should be expected. It's very hard to build a farm taht produces ML ready players in less than 3 years, with one of them being a year where there was no minor league action. I think next winter will be very telling, and I might be proven wrong. He has not done all that well with his larger contract FA signings. Story, so far. Richards. Perez I and Perez II. I think he has a good eye for talent that doesn't take $150M to or more to obtain. He's swung and missed a lot, but that too should be expected when seeking gems in the rough. After this season, there is no longer any budget excuses, unless Henry puts on the brakes, this coming winter, but I doubt that happens. BTW, I never meant to even imply you were afraid to answer any question I have ever asked you.
