  1. He's only at 34, now, so it could be possible he might be below 120 by August.
  2. You have a lot of competition.
  3. Devers has 13 XBHs to Judges 21, but since Judge walks more, he has 19 less ABs. Why not just use SLG%? .721 Ward .689 Trout .672 Judge .634 Harper .617 Chisholm .603 Cron .597 Arenado .588 Devers 11. JD .564 13. Stanton .538 28. Bogey .482
  4. Agreed. I don't think any GM offers Bogey 8+ years. He may not even get a 7 year offer. If he was a great defensive SS, he would get it.
  5. Yes, possible, but it's not like Seabold and Winckowski are struggling.
  6. I doubt they'd do it, even if we needed a 5th starter. We also have Sale and Paxton looking to rehab after the deadline.
  7. If we trade Eovaldi, Wacha and Hill? I have him, at best, third in the pecking order behind Seabold and Winckowski.
  8. I'm thinking, he might move to 3B or 2B, later in his career, where his hit toll translates better than at 1B.
  9. Many 1Bmen get paid big bucks. Devers is a great hitter, and playing 3B at an average to below average level vs playing SS at a below average level is actually a plus in Devers' favor. DEVERS FOREVERS!!!
  10. I'm not sure of anyone praising Story. If Bogey ends up getting over $200M, it's not a straight up "trade." I questioned the signing, at the time, but to me, it seems obvious he was signed to replace Bogey- like it or not. I'm sure this choice will be hotly debated for years to come, and how well each do, going forward will likely swing the debate in one direction.
  11. Good way to ease him into the next higher level.
  12. 700 went beyond just criticism. When I responded to his "bashing" of Pivetta, he never denied it. Most of the time, we talked about him, when he was pitching poorly, and yes, when he was doing well, I brought it up with him, and he seemed to take my jibes in stride. No doubt, Pivetta has pitched poorly at times, since we got him, and it's fine to criticize that and him, but in my opinion, 700 took it to an extreme level. He even joked about how Pivetta usually did well after his worst critiques. I don't think I'm trolling, or whatever you want to call it, 700 anymore than what he does to other posters, including myself.
  13. I think we have to view the Seager contract as an outlier. Of course, BorA$$ will not see it that way, but what he thinks only matters, if one GM falls for it. It's hard to know, if any one GM will go anywhere near Seager's deal to sign Bogey. The Correa type offer is a tough one to match, as well, IMO. The team gets no longer term security, and $35M is quite a bit, despite the long term risk being negated. It's a tough call. IMO, if we offered Story $23.3M x 6, I can't see us offering Bogey much more than $25M x 6. I may be in the minority, but I also think Bloom would prefer Story at SS over Bogey, so I'm not sure they would assure him he'll be the SS going forward- something he might insist on. Just my gut feeling.
  14. It only works when you bash him, which was quite often over the last 2 seasons.
  15. I live near Houston, so I don't generally listen to Boston talk radio. I do read some articles about the Sox. What is the talk about Bogey you referred to? What do you think the Sox final offer might reach?
  16. Good to see the Jays lose to the M's. The Yanks & Rays won. Last WC slot 20-18 Jays -- 18-18 CWS -1.0 16-18 CLE -2.0 16-19 TEX -2.5 17-21 SEA -3.0 15-22 BOS -4.5
  17. Bello with a solid outing for his first AAA start. 6 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 10K Bazardo, Valdez, Kelly and Ort pitched 3 shutout innings (3H 0BB 4K) Fitzy & Wong w 2 hits. Groome with a good start, too: 6 IP, 7H, 0ER, 2BB, 1K (strange K:BB ratio) Castellanos was the one man wrecking ball (2 HRs and all 4 rbis) Rafaela (.957) & Lugo (.902) with 2 hits in the Greenville loss. With the Jimenez HR, he's now over .800.
  18. Where did I even come close to saying I want to sign JD? Brush up on your reading comp skills. BTW, I'm surprised to see a Stork sighting after a win.
  19. Don't forget Hill: Last 4 starts: 19 IP 13 H 2 ER (0.95 ERA) 4 BB 15 K .482 OPS Against Whodathunk we'd be talking about Pivetta, Wacha and Hill being our best starters and not Big Nate, Sale or Paxton. Okay, not Paxton, but still...
  20. I think he knows Bloom just signed his SS of the future.
  21. I'm not sure their final offer to Bogey will even equal Story's deal. I seriously doubt it nears the $50-60M over mark. (I've been wrong many times, before on guessing contract offers.)
  22. Last night: 13 hits and 4 runs, including 2 HRs Tonight: 5 hits and 5 runs, including 1 HR.
  23. 3 starts ago, he went 6 IP with 0 ER.
