  1. Apparently, in the Bronx, there is only one way. I have to bet him, or it proves I'm a troll. The silliness never ends with some of these guys.
  2. Context is lost on the feeble minded.
  3. I think it goes deeper than that, for some- one in particular. He was showing disdain for Kike just about all 2021, too, until the playoffs. Then, just silence with maybe whispers of praise here and there.
  4. Who is "running off?" You do know this site is designed for people to express differing opinions, and you act like we can't handle it, but only you can. Nice try. btw, I could care less if you give a damn if I or others can sense your disdain for Kike. It seems pretty clear to me, but I do realize, it's just my opinion, and I could be wrong. Maybe you have posters of Kike in your bathroom. Is it okay, if I try to present some facts that show you are wrong? Is that "going off?" (At least I present facts to support my statements and opinions. We are all still waiting on your links that show all the sites graded the Betts trade as a failure for Bloom. You can't even produce one. Don't be lazy. Do some homework.)
  5. No. You need more than a .240 BA to have a plus in WAR. You need plus D, plus OBP or SLG to go with the .240 to be a plus. Funny, how Renfroe's .238 career BA was never mentioned by you.
  6. Because he's good at several positions should not diminish his value to the Dodgers. You know the word "utility" has some bad connotations, and you can pretend it was not intended, but we can sense your disdain for Kike. He more than just played "lots of games." he placed higher than many "regulars" in games and PAs. 2017 3rd in games played/ 9th in PA 2018 5th in games played/ 6th in PAs 2019 6th in games played/ 6th in PAs BTW, in 2018, he had the most PAs in CF than any other Dodger, so was considered their CF'er, not utilityman. In 2019, he had the most PAs at 2B, and was not considered their utility man, that year either. One more thing, he was more than just a playoff hero for the Sox. He was for the Dodgers in 2017 and 2018, too, AND, he was a stud from Junteenth to the end of the 2021 season- batting .267 15 44 in those 80 games (53 runs and 39 XBHs) with, dare I say, an .874 OPS. He also played more than solid D, all year long. I know, I know; last year was last year- we know what your thinking, but the guys has been a very good player since 2018 and had a nice 2015 season, too. Since 2018, his 650 PA line is... .241 22 76 (58 XBHs) .743 OPS Nobody said he was a great offensive player, but those numbers are more than decent, especially for a guy who play plus-plus D in the OF and plus D at 2B, while being capable at SS. I guess I just don't get what's not to like. The "measly" $7M contract? The fact that I dared praise his CF defense? He was one of the most important players in our drive to make the playoffs, last year, and likely a top 5 or 6 reason we made it to the post season. He nearly, single-handedly, got us to the big dance. Looks like a regular player to me- just without one position to call his own.
  7. It would have been nice to have Houck for tonight's game.
  8. You and Red really don't have much faith in last year's playoff hero.
  9. They shouldn't have to pay him those games.
  10. The A's don't want guys like them, except for Davis. Davis is like 4-5 pitchers down on my list of Sox pen arms needing to be replaced.
  11. The return of Big Nate, Whitlock and Sale may- help improve the pen by attrition.
  12. 1. Duran CF 2. Devers 3B 3. JD DH 4. Bogey SS 5. Verdugo LF 6. Story 2B 7. Cordero 1B 8. Vaz C 9. JBJ RF SP: Winckowski Bench Dalbec Refsnyder Plawecki Downs
  13. Whitlock, Big Nate and Kike, soon. Sale in July. Paxton in August. Who needs a trade deadline?
  14. You are assuming no injuries, which for the Yanks is like assuming the sun won't rise, tomorrow. That being said, you guys look unstoppable, right now, and that goes beyond your starting 5.
  15. I haven't bet in over 20 years, so using that as your criteria is a bit shallow. I made a statement. Statements can be opinions of facts. Mine did not say which one it was. If you took as a fact that must be wagered on is very telling- about you, not me. My post was meant to be light-hearted as I was teasing jacko for jinxing the team. The context might also include my post from minutes before that said, "We don't know what will happen, next, but sometimes bad skids start with a game like this." This is the sentiment I meant to convey. Of course, nobody knows if a pitching slump begins or not, but most slumps do start with a very bad game. Take that as you wish. Bet against yourself, if you feel the need, but please try to learn what the word "trolling" means.
  16. Arroyo must not be ready.
  17. I guess someone might have gotten hurt between the trade and the DFA.
  18. I just mentioned an OF'er as an option- more likely a single-A prospect.
  19. That is not a guarantee. Again, do you need a dictionary? Would you bet the Yankee pitching numbers stay the same or improve going forward? Their start to the season is a very high bar to stay at or exceed. No, I don't bet, anymore.
  20. You mean the Sox are not the only team making a few poor choices with their pen? Their Joe Kelly signing was brilliant, too.
  21. Talk about trolling. Who guaranteed a pitching slump? Mr. Stawman?
  22. I kinda like the name, and it has history to it.
  23. A higher WAR is directly related to more IP. What's probably surprising to some are these numbers. OPS Against .665 Pen .677 SP Unearner or ghost runners allowed 16 pen in 260 IP 11 SP in 339 IP
