    Maeda's WHIP went from leading the league in '20 at 0.750 to 1.298 in 2021. . He was 6-5 4.66, last year and hasn't thrown a pitch, this year Verdugo has a .764 OPS with the Sox (2020-2022) He's got 2.6 yrs of control remaining.

    I do agree, our pen looked weak, on paper, and counting on Sale to be healthy was a big gamble, but had we signed Iglesias, who do we not sign? Wacha, Strahm and Hill? Story? Wacha, Diekman and Hill?. Let Vaz walk and not sign Wacha?

    Maybe not as much as you think. I also think Kike and Wacha, maybe Vaz, bring back something good. Hill and Strahm- maybe long shot- high ceiling/low floor guys.

    In that stretch we went 1-1 @ATL 2-1 @ TEX 2-1 v HOU 4-0 v SEA 2-1 @ CWS 2-3 v BAL 1-1 v CIN 1-0 @ OAK The stretch was mostly vs losing record teams, but we did go 3-2 vs the winning ones.
