  1. What we need from Dugo is a dinger.
  2. Agreed. We'd have to beat the Yankee offer by more than $1M.
  3. Freaking walks always kill us!
  4. You want Judge from ages 31-38 at $300M/8, as he breaks down, and he certainly will over Devers at ages 26-35 at maybe $320M/10?
  5. Some guy on MLBTR projected $300M/8.
  6. Kavadas ended up 4 for 6 in the POR extra inning win. He's now up to .769. Hamilton ended the night at .735, which is much better than it was all year. The 69 SBs makes his possibilities increase. Maybe the Beni trade will reap some benefits, afterall.
  7. Mata struggling w BBs. 4IP 1H 2ER 5BB 7K EValdez 2-4 w 2B Hamilton 2-4 w 2B & BBRafaela 3-5 Binelas 2-4 w 2B & BB Kavadas 3-5 no BBs
  8. Mookie seems to have his power back.
  9. Love seeing Marwin in pinstripes.
  10. It's not a great story. It's a s***** story. Imagine, if a call like that was made that lost the Sox a WS win. Great story, right? Told for decades.
  11. I liked it better when the declared the second place guy the winner. It brought the human element into the sport.
  12. ...and?
  13. Good read. Thanks.
  14. Until his options run out, I'd keep him around (in AAA), and maybe he can get another chance, here.
  15. This is an easy one. Same as not going back to the Model T.
  16. His MLB sample size is not large enough to get a full read on his offense, but he has a lot to work on, and a lot to improve on.
  17. Maybe they make some trades and stay close, but under, the tax line in 2023. Get competitive, but also better set-up for a splurge sending winter before the 2024 season.
  18. Why actively choose to have many calls made wrongly? I don't get how this helps the game or viewing experience. Watching the game with robo umps can appear no different, at all. The call can be made to an ear piece in the home ump's ear, and he calls the strike or ball seamlessly. Not only does it take away from the frustration of bad calls, but it allows hitters and pitchers to perform to their best ability, and not have to adjust their game to the ump of the day or have to change the way the hit or pitch based on an in- game trend some ump seems to be on. Then, suddenly, the ump reverts back to his norm, which still is never 100%.
  19. Most of human history has been towards correcting mistakes and trying to find way to make thing right and better. That's also what life is like. Wht accept mistakes, when you don't have to do so?
  20. Okay, so that pretty much precludes a third year, IMO. We should have stayed under, this year. We can spend about $50M, this winter and stay under, counting ARBs. Maybe that is what they meant when they said, we'd spend on talent. To me, it makes more sense to reset in '23, and then have 2 years of going over in '24 and '25, but maybe they choose to reset in 2024.
  21. If it's $318M, then no way the fan unrest outweighs that, but they sure put out hints they will spend, this winter.
  22. The answer is most likely, no. I do think his hitting can still come around, but I'm done with any hopes of defense in the OF. I had serious doubts from the start, and he confirmed them.
  23. Are you sure that $318M number is right?
  24. I agree, but the native are getting restless. This highlights, again, how dumb it was not to trade away enough salary at the deadline to sty under, this season.
  25. I think it will be the 2024 reset.
