No team looks great in the AL, this year. We might be one addition away from a WS appearance, but I doubt it. Weird that you pick this year to not want to go for it, but your reasoning is fine. We can use a SP going forward, as Whitlock, Houck and Pivetta have proven to be better in the pen. Crawford may be, too. If we go the rental route, I hope it’s not going to cost us a top 12 prospect.

It’s always a good thing to see that the players you may lose to free agency, other than Paxton, is not an integral part of our current success.

I don’t want us trading the farm, unless it’s for a long term pitcher. I doubt we do that. I’d be okay with trading some second tier prospects at logjammed positions for a SP, but I hope we don’t splurge on a rental.

All I said was he was on his way to immortality, before he lost his clutch skill set.

Bloom has swung and missed on a few pitchers, this year but Jacques has been okay, so far, and Bernardino has more BTV than McGuie, Liu and Chang. He’s almost worth as much as Pivetta or EValdez & Arroyo combined.

Yes, I’m still crying about how crybaby fans kept us from getting better draft picks, improving the farm with prospects and maybe letting 2023 be year one of going over the tax line not 2022.

Nobody disputes many fans would have been pissed or crybabies, but all of them still got pissed and or cried, anyway. I doubt the crybabies feelings were a major reason for not trading JD and others but I do think keeping fans happy is part of the equation- a part they have failed miserably at since 2019.
