  1. What do we get for Mata and Hamilton?
  2. He’s at .815 in the last 2 weeks. If he does that over the next 2 weeks or better, GMs will be calling.
  3. We are on pace for 86-76. If we throw out 2021, the win progress is steady and pretty close to realistic expectations.
  4. We have all 9 batters over.811 in the last 14 days and 5 over 1.050!
  5. 10-2 in the last 12 games really keeps some posters away. The schedule can help a little on the lack of SPers , as we play 3, day off, play 3, day off, play 2, day off, then the west coast road trip that brings us to the deadline.
  6. Crawford took a big step forward in my book!
  7. People said the same of Walter, Murphy, Bernardino and others.
  8. Who is this year’s Aldo Ramirez?
  9. He’s been very active at every deadline, and I have to think he addresses the rotation need.
  10. I wouldn’t mind seeing Kike at 2B and especially CF, but not over Duran. Arroyo is good, but not much better than Kike, overall. I’d trade Kike over Duvall, too.
  11. Bloom also got Drohan “overshot” in the Yorke-/ Yu-Welland “under slot” ” draft. The 2021 season saw him nab Hickey over slot, then Anthony in 2022 by going under slot on several signees. It’s a clear pattern. I like his drafts.
  12. Drohan got lit up again with Woo. Dalbec hit his 22nd. Schreiber pitched an inning in rehab. Wikelman is really coming around: 6IP, 4H, 0ER, 1BB, 9K!
  13. Bernardino and Kelly might end up being helpful pen pieces, but yes, neither move the needle. Wink looks like he will stick around a while and might be viewed as evidence the Development aspect of our system is improving. (Bello, Crawford too)
  14. I think Bloom will add a SP’er or two, so we can move someone to the pen. I doubt we go blockbuster, and may get someone’s salary dump but not pay enough to put us over the line.
  15. Fair enough. I e suggested trading Duvall, but if not, I’d take him over Kike
  16. You must be looking just D. I’m not arguing he has no value but you’d really keep Kike over Duvall and Ref over just his D and flex ?
  17. So, clutch pitching > clutch hitting?
  18. Nobody is saying Bloom has done a spectacular job drafting or building the farm. Any grade we give him is highly speculative, anyway, due in part to so many HS players drafted by him. To me, it appears he has done a very good job. He has also added players through trades and Rule 5 that have already helped the big club, which is an added bonus. Some are still in the farm and may help, later. Bloom has many areas to criticise. I’m not sure why this area needs to be, too.
  19. Then Bloom has to beg Cora not to play him at SS or DFA/trade him, so Cora can’t play him. I don’t care who is at fault. It needs to stop, NOW! Actually, it need to stop weeks ago. As bad as DHam looked, even he is better than Yippy Kike!
  20. Duvall by a long shot. My point about Arroyo being on the IL a lot was a point for keeping Kike. I’m not sure what you are getting at, there.
  21. We do t need aCFer anymore, or a RHd OFer. 2B is always scary withArroyo and his IL dances, but Reyes is about ready. When Story returns, I’d keep Arroyo and Reyes over Kike.
  22. Anthony is top 100, now. One service had him in front of Bleis and Mayer. Dude, do the math on Yorke. He was picked 17th. If ever top 25 draftee was in the top 100, there would be 150 players in the top 100. You also need to factor I. The lost 2020 season, and I think he was hurt for part of 2021. Being top 100 with 30 teams is damn good.
  23. Well said. If Kike is the only choice at SS when Chang needs to sit, then Cora needs to beg Bloom to call up Reyes or DHam or add another glove SS to the 40. This has to stop, NOW!
  24. It’s not about proving a player did better in the postseason or not. Yes, pitching is better so it’s harder to match your regular season numbers, but of course the reverse is true for pitchers. They are facing better hitters, in general. If you put Papis regular season numbers into a computer and asked it to run 100 samples based on the number of PAs he has in the PO, it would not generate 100 samples at .931. Some would be near 1.000 and some near .800. Just because a guy has great numbers in the PO does not prove he has some special ability or skill.
