  2. Moderate with a chance to be big.
  3. Pretty sure there were no offers for Arroyo.
  4. I get the feeling 4 runs will not be enough for a Jays win.
  5. Why do our 1Bmen look okay on D in the minors but suck with the big club? I'm waiting for the first poster to say, "We should have traded Paxton."
  6. Never implied anything sinister. Just showing the big picture, which shows the Jays are pretty close to the same team as last year.
  7. IMO, we need 2-3 new starters, and Sale, Whitlock and Houck are the "back-up plans." Whitlock and Houck should be in the pen, all year, with their roles clearly defined starting in November. Sale can remain a possible big plus, but counting on him and planning on him to get more than 1 GS would be a mistake. I'll settle for 2 new solid SP'ers, but it will likely be one. SP1 _____ SP2 Bello SP3 _____ SP4 Crawford SP5 Pivetta SP6 Sale, Walter, Drohan, Mata... Closer Jansen RP2 Martin RP3 Winckowski RP4 Schreiber RP5 Murphy RP6 Bernardino RP7 Joely or Bleier RP8 Robertson, Mills, Kelly... C Wong, McGuire 1B Casas 2B Urias, EValdez SS Story,Chang 3B Devers LF ______, Refsnyder CF Duran, Rafaela RF Verdugo, Abreu DH Masataka, Dalbec
  8. Yes, True: Manoah went from 168 ERA+ to 71 (77 IP) but, why mention only him? These outweigh that decline: Berrios 72> 125 Kikuchi 73> 113 Gausman 113> 129 SP tOPS+ Against 103>103 RP tOPS+ Against 96>95 Looks pretty even. The Jays roster looked very similar to 2022's on opening day. They seemingly added as much as they lost. Their OPS+ went from 118 to 107. Their ERA+ went from 98 to 109. Looks like they just about evened each other out.
  9. Let's hope how they see Urias as our next 2Bman turns out better than their ideas on Kike's defensive abilities at SS.
  10. You gotta figure he's the odd man out. Chang has to stay, due to his superior defense at SS, and Story will likely get some days off, especially out of the gate. From what I can tell by the numbers, since I haven't seen Urias play D, he a negative on D at SS (-6 DRS in 1116 innings and -8.5 UZR/150.) I'd hope Reyes returns on a minor league deal, but my guess is he will be claimed by someone. (My guess is, Arroyo will be, too.)
  11. Graduated Home grown Players on the 40 RED= Spent time in other team's farm systems: 2017: Devers 2021: Whitlock, Houck, Dalbec 2022: Bello, Duran, Crawford, Winckowski, Wong, Ort 2023: Casas, Murphy, Bernardino, Kelly, Jacques Possible next graduates: 2023-early 2024: 4. 14. What do you think?
  15. Nope! The injury excuse could not be used by Sox fans, last year. Apples to apples. LOL!
  16. The league's W-L record will be .500 again, this year, so how can the quality be declining? LOL!
  17. He's just as good as last year: the batters just improved by a lot, as the league got better.
  18. DD was just messin' with Sox fans' minds.
  19. No. They are just as good. The league just got so much better!
  20. One could very easily argue the Yanks essentially brought back the same team, since Rodon got hurt, and all the other ALE teams improved to pass them. If the league got worse, it's hard to explain why the Yanks did so much worse ve easier opponents.
  21. Pretty damn solid top 10 "suspects.!"
  22. So, when Ward gets DFA'd and signs a minor league deal with us, will we hear some meas?
  23. You bashed the hell out of us, everytime we said that. Nice try.
  24. I thought Wikelman might top Perales, but you were right. Also, Murphy graduated. I wonder where they would have placed him. My take: 2 Anthony seems right, here, but seems harsh to Bleis over an injury. 12 Bonaci is too high. 13 Walter" I'd put in Drohan's 11 slot. (Joh Garcia 12, Cespedes 13, Drohan 14) 16 Meidroth- love it! I'd flip Abreu and DHam. I predict Grant Gambrell moves to near #30 in the next rankings.
  25. The thing was, Arroyo was not even our 2nd, 3rd or 4th worst, defensively, of the 4 IF opening day starters.
