  1. yup. your math looks correct. but they are only at 5 starts (Price 6). so it is not yet very very VERY significant.
  2. Price's pitching stats thus far as a Boston Red Sox SP are bad enough for folk to think they are Clay's 2016 numbers.
  3. Quantify how Price has a heart of a lion?
  4. this is true. Price averages 2 more outs per start than Clay. almost a whole inning. unless of course Clay pitches a CG in his next start. then they will be even.
  5. ok. you can continue to miss the point. that's fine with me. but since you want to believe Clay is so obviously pitching worse than Mr. Price because his ERA is .3 higher than DP's 6.2 ok. you may have a chance for mea culpa after Clay logs his 6th start. you know....apples to apples. for me...regardless of what Clay does in start #6 - Price's stats are UGLY. as ugly as one would expect injury prone, delicate, thin skinned, mental defect Clay's to be. and that says something.
  6. he's doing better than i thought he would. your numbers are not out of the realm of possibility if he continues his success.
  7. yes. 6.2 ERA is better than 6.5. but that's like saying dog s*** tastes better than cat s***. but that's not really the point. everyone had a chance to look at those numbers and thought "jesus christ clay sucks. DD is an idiot for picking up his option. clay is a bitch". but in reality those are the states for $31MM x 7 year signing. and that is scary. FTR - i am a yuuuge believer that Clay's option should have been picked up and i expect we will pick up the final option next season as well.
  8. BTW - now might be a good time to let everyone know. the stats on my OP are NOT Clay Buchholz stats. they are Mr. David Price's stats.
  9. agree 100% that this move by ESPN was completely wrong.
  10. I hear you Doji. and i have debated this many times before. without a doubt most Sox fans definitely agree with you. my deciding factor between the 2 is this: Game 7, bottom of the 9th, bases loaded, 2 outs, down by 3. who do you think gives you the better chance to enjoy a parade? Ted can have all his individual accomplishments. he was a great hitter. maybe the greatest hitter that ever walked this earth. but IMO David Ortiz is the greatest Red Sox player to have ever walked this earth. no individual stats that the splinter can present will change my mind. now if that seat was painted red because that is where the World Series winning HR landed i might reconsider......
  11. it depends how recent you want to consider "recent". and if you are considering that he is referring to what ifs re: trade or not to trade players. not managerial what ifs or in game what ifs.
  12. Buchholz. my bad. mod feel free to fix spelling in subject line.
  13. yup. i spelled it wrong. Buchholz. $13MM. that is his salary for the 2016 season. That is pretty much the going rate for a M/BOTR SP. Has he been worth it? probably not so far. history says we will only get 1/2 season from him so if history holds true we will need to start seeing a yuuuge turnaround from him very very soon. Let's take a look at the 2016 numbers so far: these are David Price stats. I will update to include Clay's stats after his 6th start. UPDATED TO NOW INCLUDE CLAY'S STATS. PRICE ------ CLAY 8 GS ------- 8 GS 48 IP ------- 45.2 IP 51 H ------- 47 H 32 ER ------- 31 ER 4 HR ------- 8 HR 1.333 WHIP ------- 1.467 WHIP 6.00 ERA ------- 6.11 ERA Those numbers IMO are not even good enough for a #5 starter. How do we get the brilliant pitcher we have seen in the past back? is it an injury we are unaware of? or is it mental? if he doesn't start pitching like a (ACE) #2 or #3 in the next start or two i fear his salary will be sunk. What says you?
  14. IMO Mr. Williams is the greatest baseball player that ever played for the Red Sox. David Ortiz is the greatest Red Sox player of alltime.
  15. hopefully these two ladies reappear next weekend.
  16. i dont necessarily agree with your statement but even if it was true. he was warned by his employer to cease and he ignored the repeated warnings. he got exactly what he deserved. it's not like they fired him out of the blue with zero warning. Curt has the freedom of speech to post whatever he wants. Curt's employer has the right to fire him for it.
  17. I put on YES after friday and saturday games to watch the manager interview. it was must see tv watching him squirm.
  18. Greatest Red Sox player of all time. it would be great to see him have a back of baseball card year in his final season.
  19. GAME 25 - JE JBj: 1-3 / BB / SB JE: 3-3 / RS / 2BB / 2SB Score: JBj: 13 JE: 7 Tie: 5
  20. Curt was warned more than once to not post politically/controversial stuff on his social media accounts. he was even put on leave for a couple weeks after posting something last summer. by continuing to do just that he kicked dirt in his bosses faces. if you are going to not do what your boss says you should expect to be fired. it's pretty simple stuff.
  21. he ambushed and destroyed that baseball.
  22. GAME 24 - JBj JBj: 3-3 / 3RBI /2RS / BB JE: 1-4 Score: JBj: 13 JE: 6 Tie: 5
  23. GAME 23 - JE JBj: 1-3 / 2RBI JE: 2-4 / 2RS / RBI / OA / HBP Score: JBj: 12 JE: 6 Tie: 5
