  1. agreed. good post.
  2. as it unfolded in first half 2014 it certainly felt like the handiwork of an agent. and when it didnt work i can only surmise that his people demanded a trade and he would have played that final year minimum for any team not named Boston. of course the $32MM st louis "eventually" gave him doesnt hurt......
  3. personally i was satisfied with our staff heading into Spring Training. We spent the $$$ and got the best FA SP available. Price taking the "Ace" spot makes the rest of the guys fall into place. i expected E-Rod - Porcello to fight to be #2. the other to be #3. ClayKelly to battle be #4. the other to be #5. and Wright/one of the kids to battle for the inevitable injury to one of the above. Even when KneE-Rod got injured in ST i was ok with the above scenario. We traded for a couple top tier RP's. Price started slow. as in sucky. thing1/thing2 have been a disaster. Erod's injury and lack of working on third pitch in ST has hurt more than i thought it would. the kids we tried were...not good. Smith is done for the season. Kimbrell has coughed some up. pitching has been Murphy's Law for the Red Sox this season thus far. hopefully that changes. soon.
  4. lol...well that didnt take long.
  5. make pedroia player/pitching coach......it wont even count as mound visits....
  6. yup. all though that bridge was burned when we didnt renegotiate that final $507k option year. he would not have thrown a pitch for the red sox in 2015 at that price. he/his agent forced our hand.
  7. man. he fell off a cliff quick.
  8. no clue. maybe try the Rusney thread?
  9. the good news is....so far nobody has chosen "these guys stink" on the poll. yet.
  10. at the 75 game mark current WAR numbers (per BR): JBj 3.6 (71 games played) JE 1.6 (66 games)
  11. we had the winning run at 3rd base (one of our fastest kids) in one of Manny's 10U tourney games this weekend. no outs and the bottom of the order up against their closer. i would have liked the Manager to have one of the first 2 try a squeeze bunt for the walkoff win but instead all 3 K'd. we ended up losing in xtras. that's about the only time i want to see a bunt.
  12. agreed. cannot argue with that HFX.

  16. i thought he threw the ball pretty well after the 1st inning. about what i would expect from a #5 SP.
  17. Clays fangraphs value will be north of 13mm by the time the season is done. Book it.
  18. Brentz looking good defensively thus far.

  21. Game 70 - JBj JBj: 0-3 / HBP JE: DNP Score: JBj: 38 JE: 23 Tie: 9
  22. disagree. he showed up his players constantly. why yell at yourself when (for ex) and outfielder drops a flyball? he's a douchebag.
  23. 100% agree with this.
  24. solid start by Clay. too bad his offense let him down. looking forward to his next start.
  25. Lebron>MJ>>>>>>>>>>>>Kobe
