i am not trying to compare how the red sox spend their $180MM vs how the Yankees spend their $220MM per year. it is not a salary comparison.

i dont think Betts trying to steal a base in a close game is ever a bad thing.

if Castillo was the Red Sox centerfielder that would be my Tracker. but since he signed with the EE, it has always been JE v RS CFer. Contract / $$$ has nothing to do with my point system. although every once in a while i do like to point out the avg cost per point. personally i would have let JE walk for $90MM let along the $153MM that the yankees paid him. the fact that we have a chance to come out on top for 2 out of the first 3 years of his 7 year contract with a player making basically league minimum is pure gold. and i dont expect JE to improve his chances in future years as he ages.

this is apparently where we differ. tell me when and what he used a banned PED substance that was against the rules. anyone that was caught after 2004 was cheating the game and cheating the other players. any team that signed or signs a player that was suspended for PED's is perpetuating the problem. i dont want the team i root for to perpetuate the PED usage and the cheating. i dont care that jose canseco shot mcwire in the azz with a boatload of steroids in 1989. i do care that Jhonny Peralta was suspended for using and the St Louis Cardinals signed him to a $53MM contract.

those arent my standards. why dont you take your own advice that you constantly spit at others and dont tell others what they think. my issue is with players that were caught using PED's and were suspended for them. i have not named a single person that was on the 2003 supposed list leaked by a fly by night website. so dont tell my what my "standards" are. hows that for consistent.

Vaz has hit some atom balls the past couple of days. he is putting the extra work in (according the JR) with chili. i'm willing to give him some more time before ruling out an acceptable 230-250 BA from him.....

hey Hugh. i actually think it's pretty easy for DD. he gets to spotlight the previous GM's failures. a little subterfuge to hide the fact that he didnt adequately build a solid rotation. also, how hard is it to convince Henry to put a few million bucks back into his wallet? anyways point being i bet most folk point out flaws of the previous staff when taking on a new position. trying to validate themselves on by kicking others in the yam sack.

no. it's not. i dont want a proven PED user on my team that cheats the system. we know what Braun failed for. we know what Cruz failed for. we know what peralta failed for. they all served suspensions for cheating. when you can prove to me what David Ortiz failed for and remind me when he served his suspension for cheating the game i will make my decision based on that. thanks.

When you can tell me what Ortiz failed for when it was a banned substance I will take the stance that I don't want him on my team. No ped users on my team is my stance. You don't need to try and explain how I'm "wrong". You can have your own stance and welcome all the cheaters to the sox if you want. That ain't me.
