  1. hahahaha. didn't think I would get away with that....
  2. FTR....whatever isn't quantifiable for the "stat heads" is known as "randomness of baseball".
  3. not with mookie betts coming up you don't.
  4. I'm not talking about any of the other games. that is sort of the point. I have only questioned 2 decisions thus far this season. both of which I deem "rookie manager" mistakes. both of which I feel he will cleanup as he gets more experience. you can defend the decision to leave Price in the game until your blue in the face. that doesn't change the fact that it was a rookie manager mistake. he got intimidated into sitting on his hands. that will change.
  5. this needs further elaboration.
  6. ahhhh...got it. i felt like the day before they showed him in the dugout so i was wondering if there was something to it.
  7. it's funny you posted that. when i saw that pic on IG i thought the same exact thing. where's pedroia???!!!!
  8. well, he cares about strikeouts so i am making the assumption he also cares about wins. also: my opinion.
  9. Chris Sale
  10. really???? LOL. you ever look at his splits????? his best hitting month is september. his second best hitting month is august. his third best hitting month is july. the dude literally gets BETTER as the season goes on. like...the opposite of "fade".....
  11. Who fade into the season? Are you talking about mitchie poo or hanram?
  12. it could also be the 74.5MM we are paying our current starting 5 for 2018...... not like we scrimped or pulled starters off of the scrap heap.....
  13. sorry, i fail to see the comparison to the POM start. as for the 8th inning 22-April: Price had just given up back to back base hits. i dont care what he did against Lowrie...he should have been pulled from the game at that point IMO. it's actually worse that he K'd lowrie because that just allowed Cora to sit on his hands and let him face KHRush. maybe if lowrie had hit an atem ball cora would have gone righty-righty. as for bringing up Carson in Game 1 of the season....that was 20 games ago. are we never going to pitch carson in a high leverage/8th inning spot again the rest of the season because of how he fared game 1??? should we have not pitched Kelly in all of these high leverage spots because he also pooped the sheets game 1? sorry Max.
  14. apparently he used up what was left in the proverbial tank to get that K because Captain Khrush got to jog 360 feet.....
  15. one of my alltime favorites. the final couple episodes this season were excellent IMO.
  16. they are twins pitching for the same club. 29Y / LHP / Fenway Park / 700IP
  17. i am going to assume you are not referring to me with this post. but i dont disagree with your first sentence.
  18. no. but it doesnt hurt the resume when you are a FA. 62-28 / 10 ND / 3.58 ERA / 1.14 WHIP 32-28 / 40 ND / 3.17 ERA / 1.09 WHIP who do you think would get the bigger $$$ contract?
  19. you are wise enough to know the answer to this.....
  20. no. my other one had nothing to do with game 1. i thought he managed that game just fine. hitting a baseball is a Fail endeavor. only succeed 3 out of 10 times (30%) and you are a muli millionaire all star caliber player. percentages say even a gassed price more often than not will get any given hitter out. percentages also say that a fresh arm in the 8th inning will have a better chance than a pitcher at the end of his rope with the batters seeing him for the 4th time. percentages are also slightly better for a righty-righty matchup. to compare this situation to Pom's 1st and 2nd inning stumbles is ridiculous. I am referencing an 8th inning / 2 base runners on situation of a tie ballgame. not a game that is 5 outs old.......
  21. what you think i would post on something that didnt happen is invalid. i posted what i posted based on what happened and my opinion of it and my opinion of why he did it. btw - the "100 pitches" thing is meaningless to me. it was the 8th inning. and he was gassed. we had plenty of strong/fresh arms in the pen. Cora made an error in his decision making. that is my opinion. and that is why i posted it in this thread. i have posted of 2 instances so far in 21 games. both of which i deemed as "rookie mistakes". he will clean those up as he gets more comfortable and confident in his role as manager. 2 instances in 21 games is pretty good. the rookie manager for philadelphia had 2 in the first game......
  22. your opinion is noted. mine is stated. rookie manager mistake.
  23. He has looked good this season. Outside of the numby finger game against our most hated rival.....
  24. He literally is on tape saying “it’s them, not me”. What story do you think we’re missing? He literally shouts it across the diamond.....
  25. Agree. This was another rookie manager mistake. Trying to get the veteran pitcher through the inning in hopes to get him a W. He should have been pulled once 2 reached....
