honestly i think the best thing MLB has done for the "pace of play" is limit the catcher mound visits. it may not equate to much game timed saved but it certainly feels like the pace is better. i hated it when the catcher would go out to the mound for every batter....

for hitters like our beloved Papi? yes. that is what the D wants. for hitters like our JBj? no. he should be instructed to bunt.

you make a great point S5. i never wanted Papi to do it, but JBj should be instructed to lay bunts down the 3rd baseline every other AB. the player will never do it on their own....Cora needs to give him the bunt sign.

OK. it took almost 800 posts in this thread but we finally ALL agree: - DD eviscerated the Farm - Ben makes a good cup of coffee (but only because he wants to) - Closers are overrated by fans and should not be given LTC

show me the stats for a robot that hits better than JDM (or any MLB level player). they dont exist. once this actually exists..we can revisit whether or not i would want players replaced by robots..... until then. i will take human players playing the game of baseball with robots calling balls and strikes.

i agree with you 100%. Drew has shown no improvement at all this season. but, trading for him with our top tier prospect was a DD move so he will not be so quick to admit to the mistake. we will see Pom continue to take starts.....

thats kind of the point. why continue to allow a human to try and track a 95MPH+ pitch with movement? the technology is available now to have just about 100% accuracy. it wasn't available for the first 150 years of baseball. but it is now. i'm impressed a horse and wagon can travel across the USA. i'm still taking a plane.....

LOL. not bad. i will say this...i believe that 2004 team needed a guy like Manny to keep them loose. Plus he gave so much happiness to Remy. he would literally have to push the cough button on his microphone sometimes he would be laughing so hard at Manny's antics.

fine. but what did it do to BJ's psyche? He could have walked off that mound with his chest puffed out and been the man. as a pretty good (HoF) catcher once said... BASEBALL IS 90% MENTAL AND THE OTHER HALF IS PHYSICAL In case everyone forgot...BJ has had some well known mental issues/anxiety. -
Maxbialystock is the only other that i would even recommend. he has had EPIC streaks as well.
