i dont disagree with either of you. but i honestly believe that just him being in our lineup has made a YUUUUGE difference for the output for the entire lineup.
if he wins the triple crown?
you want our #9 hitter to be a .400 hitter / .500 OBP?
sorry, i dont mean to be picking on you specifically. but it just seems that no matter what JBj does, it is not good enough for alot of posters on this site.
maybe the manager should put the 1.106 hitter in a different part of the lineup? perhaps 3rd or 4th? you know, spots where you arent relying in your 9th place hitter to get on base in front of you? that's what the 1 & 2 hitters are for............
outside of a 6 game stretch where he struck out seemingly every AB, JBj has hit the ball on the screws for the entire season. his BABIP was insanely low. the hard hit balls have now been falling in for a good stretch.
but i will go back to what i have said about JBj all along...he can literally go 1 for 10 (.100) all season long and he is my starting CFer. his defense is that good.
He rolled the dice with the kid in the 8th with no one warming. If your gonna do it to try and save some pen might as well do it against the O’s which is basically like pitching in AAA
