  1. I still don't understand how Cora could position his infielders with men on 1st and 2d, 1 out, so that a double play was impossible or very unlikely.
  2. The Yankees have pretty good pitching in case you noticed. This series right now is entirely on our abysmal pitching staff.
  3. How was that not a GIDP? Bogie had no one to throw to at 2B. OK. Damage limited. Porcello dug that hole himself, but got out with almost no damage. No K's of course. Can't have that.
  4. That's an easy run for the Yankees with nary a hit. And I predicted Porcello would extend the Yankee lead.
  5. Classic Porcello. Load the bases on a pitcher error, a walk, and an HBP.
  6. What did I say? First two batters on, and Porcello is in meltdown. Whoops. There goes another baserunner. Porcello wants his mommy about now.
  7. Score now 4-3, so it's time for Porcello to go back out there and extend the Yankees lead by a run or two because today he is going for the putz award.
  8. He has been a great hitter, so of course he will hurt us. But that doesn't mean our pitchers need to throw him gopher balls. Porcello is supposed to be good lowball pitcher this year, but he didn't throw a single one in that at bat by Stanton.
  9. Could be right there. My point is that Stanton ain't superman. I'd also like to say that now he is throwing lots of breaking balls and keeping the ball low. But in the first all he threw were fastballs to Gardner and Judge, who doubled and singled for the first run. Since the pitches are all being called by the bench, I have to say I think the brain trust ain't that smart.
  10. Meh. That fast ball waist high on the outside corner to Stanton on a 2-2 count was just stupid. Porcello needed to go inside on him and not way inside as he had been doing.
  11. The problem is the pitching far more than it is the hitting. Last night we got 2 off their ace, but Hembree choked big time. Tonight We got a couple of Tanaka and our ace promptly give us 4 runs in 3 innings.
  12. Porcello just might have a good or even great year, but he is not, repeat not, a big game pitcher.
  13. Hate to say it, but that was a fine piece of pitching by Tanaka.
  14. That splitter is tough, and the slider ain't bad either.
  15. So now when does Tanaka go for Moreland's chin?
  16. Tough break for Tanaka, but he got a couple of calls earlier.
  17. I said that before it happened, but I did think it was possible. He stinks lately.
  18. Hanley wants that GIDP, sad to say.
  19. First the chin music from Tanaka. Now a Yankee baserunner calls timeout and promptly runs to 3b. Yankees seeing what they can get away with. At some point they might want to try playing ball.
  20. No way, no how that was unintentional. Tanaka has way too much control for that.
  21. Cora has got to keep Moreland in there and JBJ on the bench. It's that simple.
  22. Good lineup. Moving Devers down could help. And I like Moreland 6th. As Slasher9 says, short porch in RF should work for JD,and I think the corner is a little easier than at Fenway.
  23. it's brilliant, one of my favorite movies. It was both frightening and hilarious when my wife and I first saw it in 1964 at Fort Sill, OK.
  24. He has a pretty good arm and made maybe his best catch this year in right center at Fenway.
  25. Good for you. Tell ya somethin' else - this thing turns out to be half as important as I figure it just might be, I'd say that you're in line for some important promotions an' personal citations when this thing's over with.
