  1. I didn't see magic. I did see a guy moving his pitches around and throwing a lot of those knuckle curves that are hard to hit. Also a decent cut fastball. Never saw a change. He only gave up 4 hits in 6 innings. Granted, two dingers, but one was into that short porch in RF. Against the number one offense in MLB that recently has been hot as blazes.
  2. I swear the Yankee pitchers are getting a bigger strike zone. Is Sanchez that good?
  3. Helluva at bat by Nunez. Classic.
  4. Great 5 innings by Pom, and it wasn't luck.
  5. Don't forget Beni. He's the dummy who tried to take second on a single. Makes no difference he made it. You critics have high standards.
  6. Great game thru 4 1/2. Not at all what I expected. Ump seems to be giving more calls to Severino than Pom. If he can get thru the 5th, a great job.
  7. Well, at least he hit it. 100 mph fastball right down the middle.
  8. 89 after 2 pitches to Hanleyh.
  9. Ump should have called Beni out because it's automatic whenever any Sox baserunner at any time whatsoever tries to get an extra base. He has disappointed his non-fan base. For shame.
  10. Third time thru the lineup for Severino. Try to keep up.
  11. Finally. Severino left a slider up and someone made him pay. Not a lot, but still.
  12. 3d time's the charm. Come on, Mookie.
  13. You noticed. But you're still convinced Betts would have hit a dinger with Vazquez on first.
  14. Good hustle by Nunez.
  15. He didn't just strike out. He looked bad doing it. Plus it was a very close play that took a perfect throw to beat Vazquez.
  16. It was a close play on a perfect throw from Judge which not only went straight to the bag, but went hard to the bag. Anything else and Vazquez is safe at 2b with nobody out. Two ground outs can score him. A single can. A grounder and a sac fly can.
  17. He did get to bat and the struck out. Have you been watching the game?
  18. Severino dishes two sliders up in the zone and Hanley can't only dribble one to the mound.
  19. OK, moonslav and others can take a bow for saying Pom can pitch. 1 run vs. 9 outs against this lineup is good pitching.
  20. Top of the order don't mean jack against Severino. Betts and Beni were both easy K's. A man on 2b can score on a couple of ground outs or a single.
  21. It took a perfect throw, one with some zip on it, to get him out on a close play. He absolutely should have gone for 2.
  22. Which I seem to have forgotten.
  23. Great recovery by Pom, which I did not think he had in him. I don't care if he only goes 4 innings if he can hold these guys to 2 runs or less.
  24. This would be agony except that I'm watching a Monk rerun at the same time.
  25. Two very nice K's by Pom. Gotta give him credit.
