  1. I realize that Ben is not working alone in the FO. I realize that Ben does not get full credit for anything. However, he deserves a lot more credit and a lot less blame than he gets. What's sad is not being able to see that.
  2. Good luck in making the school team this year. I'm pulling for you. Our spring athletes have been stinking up the hallways, conditioning (and sweating) inside because it's been to cold to practice outside.
  3. I understand that your best defender is supposed to be in center field, but I like JBJ in right field better because of his arm, and because right field in Fenway is tough to play. Also, Mookie looked like he felt pretty comfortable playing center. That said, I think we are in good shape defensively either way.
  4. Boggs was a great player. There's no denying that. I fully admit that I don't like him because of the horse riding incident.
  5. IMO, there was more stuff that went wrong in each of 2012, 2014, and 2015 than went right in 2013.
  6. It's no secret what Ben's philosophy behind building a team was. It's no secret that he had a long term vision of building a strong farm system and that he was hesitant to trade away many of his top prospects. I know that you're glad to see Ben go. That's fine, but give credit where credit is due. For someone who thinks it's pointless to give give too much credit to one person, you seem very willing to sing Dombrowski's praises.
  7. I don't agree that 2013 was a fluke, but I think your last two paragraphs are spot on. It is difficult to rebuild the farm while trying to keep the team competitive at the same time. I've said many times that I wish Henry could have shown a little more patience with Ben. We are just starting to see his long term vision come to fruition.
  8. He says you're welcome.
  9. LOL Things must be a lot calmer than they used to be around here. I don't recall seeing that word used a lot.
  10. I agree that nerd does not describe an idiot. I didn't make the list, I just posted it. I kind of like nerds. Idiots, not so much.
  11. And just because I'm bored, I think it is time to thank Ben once again for the great shape of our farm system.
  12. I read a good article this morning on the rise of Fangraphs. I remember when I first started quoting Fangraphs back in 2009, most other posters joked their writers, making comments like how they must be on crack. People thought these guys were crazy. They've come a long way. Good job to the fine folks not only at Fangraphs, but also at Baseball Prospectus, and The Hardball Times.
  13. Thanks for posting the ST pictures. Seeing them gets me pumped up for the season. The boys are looking good!
  14. fool, ass, halfwit, dunce, dolt, ignoramus, cretin, moron, imbecile, simpleton; informaldope, ninny, nincompoop, chump, dimwit, dumbo, dummy, dum-dum, loon, dork, sap, jackass, blockhead, jughead, bonehead, knucklehead, fathead, butthead, numbskull, numbnuts, dumb-ass, doofus, clod, dunderhead, ditz, lummox, knuckle-dragger, dipstick, thickhead, meathead, meatball, wooden-head, airhead, pinhead, lamer, lamebrain, peabrain, birdbrain, mouth-breather, scissorbill, jerk, nerd, donkey, nitwit, twit, boob, twerp, hoser, schmuck, bozo, turkey, chowderhead, dingbat, mook; vulgar slang asshat
  15. Even if that's not him, Farrell has visited him recently, and reports from both Farrell and Dombrowski are that Panda looks good. Farrell has also stated that it is very important to Panda to make amends for last year and to show fans that he is worth his contract. I realize that he has lost weight during the offseason before only to gain it all back, but he has never had a season as bad as he did last year. He deserves the chance to make amends before being written off by everybody.
  16. Well, if by "normal" you mean the posters here, then right!
  17. LOL Well here's a picture of Pineda, who isn't shielding his gut behind a frame. This one's for Jacko. http://i489.photobucket.com/albums/rr254/jonredsox/CbHP5fLW8AA-_7y_zpsgiawjo7t.jpg
  18. I don't think anyone thinks he should have gotten the contract that he got. He had a terrible year last year. I'm willing to give him a chance to redeem himself this season, and at least give him some credit for trying.
  19. I'm not so sure it is a fake. I guess we'll see when he reports to camp.
  20. I still think you're being a little hard on Buchholz, but other than that, we agree on the type of impact that Price could have on the rest of the staff.
  21. It's possible that his weight had no affect on his range, but I think he will be able to move better if he can keep the weight off. I am not expecting 2014 postseason numbers, but I am expecting approximately a 2 War player, which would be 4 wins better than he was last year.
  22. I re-sized the pic I originally posted here to make it smaller. I think that's what caused the blurry edges. The original picture, posted below, does not have that. It might still be photoshopped, but the blurry edges were my fault. http://cdn.barstoolsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/13/Screen-Shot-2016-02-13-at-3.19.32-PM.png?5e1a7c
  23. LOL I think stupidity and arrogance are prerequisites for politicians?
  24. It is quite possible that this pic is photoshopped. Here is the article that I found it in, which states that Pablo posted the pic on Instagram. I have no idea how legit this is. http://www.barstoolsports.com/boston/red-sox-fan-asks-bruce-bochy-to-take-pablo-sandoval-back-at-giants-fan-fest/ That said, Farrell has been in contact with Panda, and Farrell says that he looks great.
  25. I agree with your first sentence. The key is for Panda to keep the weight off throughout the season. I agree that there is no correlation between Panda's weight and his offensive performance, but I think the lower weight will help him defensively. His range has to be hampered by extra pounds. With his weight loss, I am hopeful that he will return to being an average defender.
