  1. Nice opening post Max. Keep the good times rolling! Win, win, win!
  2. Randomness is on our side.
  3. Incredible! Absolutely incredible! And it seems like everyone on the team is contributing. It's always great to win. Even better when the Yankees lose too. Go Sox!
  4. If they can stay healthy, look out.
  5. I can understand both lines of thinking. Of course, Jbay and SoxHop are correct. We need Pom for the long run. The long term benefits of having him right for the rest of the season outweigh the possible loss that we could have taken last night. Even if we weren't on such a great start. From a rational standpoint, letting Pom struggle a little was the correct decision. But I'm not gonna lie, I want to win every game. The emotional side of me was screaming, 'Get the bum out of there!'. LOL
  6. Storm Davis
  7. He really has been that bad. I'll reserve judgment on how he is this year until he's had more playing time. I've seen some decent plays so far, but I've also seen some questionable ones.
  8. Sorry to hear that Dojji. Best wishes to you.
  9. Weakening the defense (considerably, IMO) in 2 outfield spots is not my idea of a smart move. I'm with you. JBJ all the way in CF, regardless of how he's hitting.
  10. Just watched that play. Gotta give credit where credit is due. Great play.
  11. There are some who are questioning his ability to play, but I get that that was not the issue. As far as I know, no one who has ever played with him, currently or in the past, has ever called his leadership or whether he is a good teammate into question. The comments in response to those types of questions are always positive. I also get that his current teammates are likely not going to throw him under the bus, but his former teammates who have nothing to lose by being truthful, have also spoken very highly of him.
  12. The Gold Glove awards have gotten better in recent years. The SABR component has helped quite a bit. They still have their selections that make one shake his/her head, but they are not the absolute joke that they once were.
  13. Ha. Great minds....
  14. Dombrowski did nothing 'wrong' in terms of putting together the short term team.
  15. Keep on winning! That is all.
  16. One of the things Cora mentioned early was being able to communicate to the players in such a way as to get them to buy into what he was saying. He gave a specific example yesterday of how Hanley was shocked to see he was batting 2nd in the line up. Cora explained to Hanley that he wanted Hanley to get more at bats, and that he was in a good spot between Betts and JD. Hanley seemed to buy into it. I give Cora a lot of credit for how he has changed the hitting philosophy of this team so successfully in such a short period of time. I think he knows baseball and people very well.
  17. Aaron Boone - LOL I feel so fortunate that the Sox did not sign him as our new manager.
  18. Well said, and I agree. I love the impact that Cora seemingly has on the team, but he has a long way to go to be crowned 'Best Manager Ever'.
  19. As would I. For me, it has nothing to do with a dislike of Holt, but everything to do with who has the options.
  20. Well, I wouldn't say that there is nothing random about the beatings. There's always randomness in baseball. But I get your point and completely agree. We have a very good team!
  21. The 5-0 record in the blowout games gives me a heck of a lot more confidence in our team than the 5-0 record in the one run games.
