Bleis is a long way away from the majors and hardly tearing it up. I'd be surprised if someone took him at this stage.

It'll be an internal player one way or another I'm pretty sure. Unless Campbell's D is really picking up, I would guess he would be the main candidate if the offence continues to improve as it has done recently.

I was listening to a podcast way back with a medical guy that said you'd be surprised how often it isn't obvious they should have the surgery. As in most guys will have small tears in there and carry on pitching just fine without the surgery. It seemed a lot more complicated a decision than perhaps we've been led to believe. Pity Jackson wasn't still around (just for the Yanks implosion if nothing else), would be good to get more information on this whole thing.

In truth, I really didn't see this coming. It's a joy to watch. I'm still hesitant to trust it, but boy is it fun to watch us right now.

Yeah, this. This continued idea that Breslow was made to make this move by someone twisting his arm behind his back is ridiculous. Every move made on this roster is on him. Every one. I really thought this sweep was going to happen the other way around. What a great weekend.

Interesting tidbit from Dodges GM, Gomes. I did wonder if May might have a similar role here. "We had a lot of really respectful conversations with D-May, and he's been a huge part of the organization for a long time," Gomes told reporters, according to Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register. "Through those conversations, it was apparent that starting was very important to him. As I mentioned in another thread, while this may be your and my view on it, if they'd sold in the position they are in, Fenway would be on fire now. We can't ignore the context of what's come before, no matter how convenient it would be.

That would be my initial leaning, too, but thy surprised me after the Devers trade, so we'll see. For Bres' sake I hope they still get the play offs. For ours, too. Not least because the young guys need the experience, but also because we need to look like a winner to FAs again and because I really don't want to see us sack another GM.
