  1. And yet you felt the need to get involved, strangely, backing up my point. But, so be it.
  2. I simply stated that Europe too, has Capitalism, in response to your insinuation you are happy enough with capitalism and have no desire to escape it by going to Europe. I wasn't expecting such a reply to trigger a salute the flag moment, but there you go. Yes, despite some ideas suggesting otherwise, Capitalism isn't American. And there is quite a lot of socialism in America, also. It's just called something else and mainly for the wealthier among the population.
  3. What a bizarre and overlysensitive reply. That's why Canada is such a great country.
  4. Are you under the impression capitalism doesn't exist in Europe?
  5. You don't think an agent that is trying to get the best possible deal for his client tells all the interested parties that this is the number ($x) they need to beat if they want him? Really? Of course they tell the other suitors. Unless a player has a hankering for one certain club, everyone knows the price they need to beat. Especially if there are several teams bidding.
  6. The rumours are all off the same article to be fair. There isn't new news on the topic, just recycled news.
  7. I'd trade 2 years of Bogey for one year of Machado. I know it'll take an extra piece or two, to get it done, but if we could get it to a reasonable deal I'd make the trade, regardless of the extension.
  8. Yeah possibly. 8 years definitely get's it done, but I wouldn't do that contract. As Bellhorn said, it eats up too much of our budget.
  9. 10 @ $300m is my guess.
  10. I wouldn't be shocked if we work a deal out with them this winter. But it's a long shot, no doubt.
  11. I agree that there is almost zero chance we sign both, but there won't be a QO for Machado.
  12. I almost always watch delayed if I'm back in the UK. Get up early, throw on last nights ball game as I get ready to think about work. Perfect.
  13. Plus a draft pick however....
  14. CBS and then reported by a few other outlets. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/mlb-hot-stove-trade-rumors-red-sox-remain-interested-in-orioles-machado/
  15. Machado rumours heating up. Send Bogey to the O's (with extras) and take Machado. Do it right now.
  16. Yea Bogey gets too much criticism for his defence. It's not great, but its not poor either. His hitting is what bothers me. He should be producing more power. I'm hoping Cora sorts out his swing. 20 a year from Bogey should not be asking too much.
  17. Yup! It's been my No 1 biggest annoyance these past few years. Watching a hitter quite literally tell the pitcher - "The first one is on me. Throw it in there."
  18. That's a pretty useless piece of writing seeing as half the teams he's discussing he mentions don't really have the prospects to do the trade. If we trade JJB it most certainly is not for prospects.
  19. Holt traded, Nunez signed as second base for the foreseeable and Hernandez as the multi tool spanner for now. We can but dream...
  20. He needs to be kept on a very tight leash, however.
  21. But we have players who can play 2nd base and several other positions. Nunez wouldn't play 1st. That said if Nunez is healthy I'd love to have him back if we can make the salary work and trade Holt.
  22. It's going to be a smack on the face for us either way. If he pitches to ace quality (or anything near it) he goes and we will need to replace his performance. If he plays porly or gets injured, we are suckered with the rest. At the very least, I hope it's option A. Having Price and Sale dominating would be a beautiful thing.
  23. There's no reason to cut him yet. Bring in JD, see if Hanley can find some form and earn at least part of his contract. And stop him getting to the vesting option. That's the smart plan ahead. If he plays up or sinks, then cut him.
  24. Because while he batted 4th or 5th he batted and performed very poorly. Was that not obvious?
  25. Me three. I like the Moreland move.
