  1. Since I spend half the year in LA, it will be pretty great to see all the RS superstars right in my back yard. And when that happens, I will be rooting for Boston to lose every game until the team is sold.
  2. Don't buy gear. The RS have just shown they don't give a cr*p about YOU, so why would you hand over any money to THEM?
  3. That's how wannabe GMs and fantasy-geeks think.
  4. Don't you think that that has been part of the long-term plan all along? Shed salary and long-term commitments to make the team more attractive to deep-pocket buyers? (Let's hope that IS the plan, so that we can see or hope for an end to this.)
  5. I guess the kindest thing I can say is that there are fans (as I understand the meaning of the term), and then there are wannabe GMs, Fantasy sports addicts, and Fan-Fiction writers.
  6. Devers is next. All of the cosplaying GMs and Fantasy fans can now relax and rejoice.
  7. Agreed . I just don't see how you sign them without those clauses (unless of course you agree to pay your workers fair-market value, which the RS won't do, unless it's a player no one has heard of or cares about).
  8. FANS??? Come on! That's so retro. You need to get with the program and worry about Fantasy-Sports fans. They're the ones who count. Not the ones who actually watch sports because they like to watch athletes perform.
  9. Yes. But what's wrong with things that benefit players? The same argument could be made against salaries in general, which benefit players but have no upside for the team.
  10. RESET!!!! Red Sox everywhere celebrating! Now, once we get rid of Devers, the gates will be wide open for exhibitionists, perpetrators of assault, and anyone, you know 'caught in the wrong place at the wrong time'.
  11. Oh yes! Just like we did! Why who doesn't remember where they were when the Bloom/Henry "RESET!" was posted! I mean you ask why people follow sports? There's your answer! What a great day in sports history.
  12. His moronic political views and spews don't bother me as far as HOF is concerned (which is hardly legitimate as long as Bonds isn't in there). But I'll with-hold judgment until he pays back the $70million he stole from RI taxpayers.
  13. I'm sure there are players who are good value out there. You can get great deals on, say, guys who fight other players for no reason, guys who pleasure themselves in public, or say guys who may (or may not!) like to take photos of underage girls getting raped in hotel rooms. That's where the real value is.
  14. So five players can give the RS (hopefully) what one did? Sounds like a winning formula for success.
  15. This seals it! Should I order my WS tix now? Or wait, knowing that we'll have no worthy opponent and tickets will be going for pennies?
  16. So once again, we are supposed to celebrate when the RS tweet ecstatically "RESET!!!!" ?
  17. Can we just have a moment of silence for Kyrie? whom I hope we never have to hear from again? Thanks. OK. Carry on.
  18. I'm just happy we don't have to put up with watching these stiffs like Mookie, Kyle Schwarber, and Vasquez any more. Hopefully, Bogey, JD, and Devers will be gone as well, and we can finally get some consistency with the RS.
  19. Actually, the more all-stars you have on your team, the better your chances. But this goes completely against the JH/Bloom philosophy.
  20. Speaking of the REd Sox ... oh screw it. Who cares? Listen to this instead.
  21. Exactly. Resetting is not a step toward a championship. It is a way to cut down on expenses and make more money for ownership. It's fine to be in favor of ensuring that fabulously rich people remain fabulously wealthy. But it's delusional to imagine increasing the bank of owners and investors has anything to do with making their businesses or their products better.

  23. Ok. I think that answers my question. There is NO evidence whatsoever that he took PEDs. There is NO evidence whatsoever that he was a bad team-mate. As for the charges against Cabrera, am I to assume from this that NO POSTER here (all of us, apparently, of impeccable morality), NONE has ever hit on a colleagues spouse? Never?
  24. Just for the record, since I remember Nomar quite differently, could someone please list the evidence for these claims: (1) PED use, and (2) more important, the statements by particular players or coaches claiming he was a bad team-mate. I'm sure they exist, but I've never seen one. Thanks.
  25. Fine in what sense? If he puts the pennies in the seats, which he will, he doesn't need to have great seasons every year.
