    True enough. But then, there's no evidence whatsoever that he has executed any plan particularly well, right?

    I think his 'plan' is that of all new bosses: to make his mark by filling all the positions he can with 'his' guys, and that of course means getting rid of 'the other guy's guys.' Thus Betts, Bogey, Beni ... guys like that just don't count. And if he can save the owner millions of dollars in the process, great! All the lying, hypocrisy, contempt for players and fans ... that's just extra.

    Why wouldn't he? It's also hard to see why he would agree to 'play hurt' as he did for much of last year.

    Since I spend half the year in LA, it will be pretty great to see all the RS superstars right in my back yard. And when that happens, I will be rooting for Boston to lose every game until the team is sold.

    I guess the kindest thing I can say is that there are fans (as I understand the meaning of the term), and then there are wannabe GMs, Fantasy sports addicts, and Fan-Fiction writers.

    Agreed . I just don't see how you sign them without those clauses (unless of course you agree to pay your workers fair-market value, which the RS won't do, unless it's a player no one has heard of or cares about).

    FANS??? Come on! That's so retro. You need to get with the program and worry about Fantasy-Sports fans. They're the ones who count. Not the ones who actually watch sports because they like to watch athletes perform.

    Yes. But what's wrong with things that benefit players? The same argument could be made against salaries in general, which benefit players but have no upside for the team.

    His moronic political views and spews don't bother me as far as HOF is concerned (which is hardly legitimate as long as Bonds isn't in there). But I'll with-hold judgment until he pays back the $70million he stole from RI taxpayers.

    I'm sure there are players who are good value out there. You can get great deals on, say, guys who fight other players for no reason, guys who pleasure themselves in public, or say guys who may (or may not!) like to take photos of underage girls getting raped in hotel rooms. That's where the real value is.

    I'm just happy we don't have to put up with watching these stiffs like Mookie, Kyle Schwarber, and Vasquez any more. Hopefully, Bogey, JD, and Devers will be gone as well, and we can finally get some consistency with the RS.

    Exactly. Resetting is not a step toward a championship. It is a way to cut down on expenses and make more money for ownership. It's fine to be in favor of ensuring that fabulously rich people remain fabulously wealthy. But it's delusional to imagine increasing the bank of owners and investors has anything to do with making their businesses or their products better.
