    Either one of them can stop this instantly by not participating in a back-and-forth that no one reads but themselves. So apparently, each of them increases their personal sense of self-worth (not shared by anyone) by continuing.

And how many years of struggle and research they would have to do before coming up with the name Scot Rolen. (or is it Fred Rollins?)

    The RS still have Dalbec and Duran?? Why? Bec. they contribute so much more to the team than, say, Vaz or Bogey of course or Hosmer? Or because Pedroia started slow (not for long), now we assume when any young player sucks consistently, they will magically become All-Stars overnight? Like Franchy maybe?

    Why not re-read my post? To claim that every 'sexual assault' (most of us have been victims of that) is 'rape' (we all know people who have been physically overpowered and brutally penetrated; luckily I have not) seems bizarre to me. But if you don't believe there is a difference, I won't argue.

    I don't know who "we" are in your rhetorical question. I absolutely would not root for him. But apparently, if he pitched for NY, you would. At least, that's what you just admitted. And to say DW is guilty of 'rape' rather than 'sexual assault' is needless and incendiary. I won't be rooting for him either. But again, from what you say above, apparently you will.

    Of course getting rid of Betts and Bogaerts and Vaz and Beni (and who am I forgetting?) isn't directly related to signing nobodies like Ph and McQ ( I am actually much more concerned about the public assault in Ph's case than the laughable and embarrassing but harmless crap McQ did. I admit from a PR standpoint, many fans, and likely players as well, probably feel the reverse). What I am asking is why you would sign guys like this in the first place. Someone must have felt their value outweighs their cost (i.e., weighing these things the way one might for a fantasy league, rather than an organization with real human beings in it). JB's point above is a good one: there are some people you just don't want to be sharing an office with, no matter how much value they bring to your organization; I doubt this was much of a concern when one day last year we were rooting for a long-time player like Vaz and the next day were given his replacement.

    Got me. Wasn't there anyone in the room who said, Hey, Chaim, are you SURE you want to sign inconsequential guys with baggage like that? What's the point? As for Bauer, I agree: I will bet any amount of money that he will be signed somewhere. The only hindrance will be his own ego and lack of self-awareness, which will likely prevent him from taking, say, a minimum deal.

    Well of course from a legal and moral point of view I agree. And I doubt anyone will sign TB (right away). As you note, if owners will pay people like Deshaun Watson, why shouldn't they sign Bauer? But explain to me why, if McQ is so bad (which he is), and Pham is disposable, why you would get rid of a popular and productive player like Vaz and acquire guys like this. If your (meaning Bloom's, not you) concern is with the morale of the clubhouse, how do acquisitions like this make any sense?

    But they are both 'great values' to your fantasy team or your real one, no? As are players like Pham. Much better 'value' than, say, Vaz or Benintendi or Betts.

    I think Bauer and Mcquire will make a great battery, oops, sorry, I meant only if they can pull off a , oops sorry. You know, it's really difficult to talk about these two.

    His play on that infield pop-up is burned indelibly into my mind as the future of the Bloom-Sox. Let's hope it turns out to be a delusion.

    And of course BLoom gets to repeat his often used apology about regretting the way he handled things. Perhaps he should consider handling things correctly. Then he wouldn't have to apologize all the time.

    OK. So show me, as a Bloom apologist, the positivity in getting rid of 6 or 7 of the best and most popular RS players. Players that we have followed for years, have been very productive, and by and large model citizens. Why we should feel good about that?

    That's correct. But when Bloom signed him, he had NOT been cleared of these charges. It wouldn't mean much, except for the rest of the guys Bloom has signed who were signed at the height of their legal difficulties. Bloom knows a good deal when he sees it. And character-guys like Betts and Vaz, why, you actually need to pay them what their value is, and no way he's doing that.

    Wow, Bloom says he has "a couple of regrets" about letting Bogey go but declines to say what they were. Why would anyone believe anything coming from the guy who dismantled the team (Betts, Bogey, JD, Beni, JBJ, likely-Devers, Vaz) while denying all the time that was his goal. I hope the BloomSox (a guy who masturbates in public, another who assaults players over fantasy sports, one accused of kidnapping an underage girl when he was signed, an injury-prone .200 hitter, ... who am I forgetting here?) play to an empty park while losing 162 games next season.

    There is never a lack of apologists and sycophants in the presence of individual or corporate power. My point was so straight-forward and obvious, I am stunned at the energy and genius squandered on mis-representing it.

    Because not all of those had long tenure with the RS. Also, I wasn't aware that Pedroia was shipped off; you mean Nomar. Two different humans.

    JH/Bloom obviously don't care that fans are human beings and get attached to other human beings--players we've followed for a while. Vaz, Beni, Betts, Devers, Bogey, even JBJ, JD. Even announcers are expendable. Apparently they think all fans are automatons, wannabe GMs and fantasy geeks. But we're not (well, I obviously can't speak to all of you). We actually care about the particular individuals who play the game. Why should I follow the RS, when I can follow the players I've grown to care about right here in LA?
