  1. OK. I supported an a-hole .190 hitter long enough. Despite his not chasing a ball over his head, despite his homophobic arguments with fans, despite his changing his batting stance ever week to one even more ridiculous than the last, despite his failure to realize his 'confession' of depression was not going to elicit sympathy from fans. If you can't trade him, leave him on the bench. Or maybe just let Willyer beat the cr*p out of him.
  2. The RS do not keep radiologists and hand surgeons in the locker room, you know, 'just in case'.
  3. Textbook play by Duran--route to ball, throw. Too bad about that .190 average.
  4. Then you are advocating a violent lifestyle. Give an example of how it helps 'to have people a little uncertain around you.'
  5. We already have to endure the fake piety of the stupid anthem, What next? The Lord's Prayer and fish on Friday? Damn, just like being in grammar school in the 50s.
  6. Did the Orioles broadcast just announce an upcoming "Christian Faith Night"?? ****-effing-****!
  7. Come on. Throw f*cikiing strikes. 2 outs in the 9th? a walk is the same as a HR.
  8. Yeah, he does have good ABs. Too bad they are slightly fewer than 1 in 5.
  9. Meanwhie, apropos of nothing, check out the double play ending the Dodgers game last night. Dale Berra Award for worst base-running of the season.
  10. I think your analysis is wrong because you are dealing with human beings and their performance, human beings with memory and superstition; you're not dealing with a coin flip. My favorite streak was during the 'todd Bellinger' years (two of them), when after flailing about for a half-year and me deciding just to relax and root for .500, they went something like 22-1. Until this streak, I remembered that as 20-0.
  11. Oh yeah, at 6-46 over this winning streak, Duran has earned his starting spot.
  12. or, apparently, if you're 6 of the last 48, they'll find a place for you as well. No doubt Duran starts the next game.
  13. Not many of us. were around in the early 30s, but the over half century preceding 2003? oh yeah.
  14. Duran, batting about .150 during this 12-game streak, OBVIOUSLY deserves to start again.
  15. And how did the resident .180 specialist do against them? (Note, I'm not asking why jones isn't playing; I'm asking why we keep going to a guy who has proven over a large sample size to be a sub-Mendoza hitter).
  16. Didn't see the game, just the box. Why does Jones hit a HR in his first AB and then is replaced by a .180 hitter?
  17. Yup. Every time I rag on Duran, he does well. I like the guy, so I'm going to continue criticizing him. Same with Romy, although didn't work today.
  18. no no! jarren and Romy need their ABs. You know, 'trade value' ... or whatever bs argument keeps them in there.
  19. To paraphrase Brando: "My ole man cooked harder than that."
  20. I defined Duran as the "bad hitter" in the post.
