  1. Please stop my ass UN ... If the Sox loose Jacoby to Seattle, Colorado, Mets, Texas ... fine and dandy. Put the Sox lost there best everyday player to the biggest rival in our won division. Don't you get it. We were able to do what we did last season because we had a stable of very good players to compliment with other lessor players. The Yankees once again took a s*** on our front lawn. Don't go on with this stop it crap.
  2. Thank you Fred. I just wish the Sox pushed the matter and signed Cano before the Yankees inked Ellsbury. 200M/ years. Offset the plus WAR of Ellsbury with the minus WAR of Cano. Actually Fred ... McCann, Ellsbury, Cano, & Tanaka is my bet.
  3. It was me. Someone said that Ellsbury was not a need for the Yankees. I called it ... the Yankees always go after the top FA's year after year. McCann, Ellsbury, Betran, Tanaka, Cano ... will they sign all 5, 4 of 5, or 3 of 5. Either way the Sox are 0 for 5 so far.
  4. Are you joking?
  5. About time you guys woke up about the Yankees ... who said to me the other day that we do not have to worry about the Yankees ... just the Rays .... well the Rays got better today too!
  6. Now you can appreciate taking Cano from the Yankees. The Sox are being cheap ass penny pinchers. They have a ton of younger players who will cost them near nothing for the next 7 years. Letting Hanigan slip to the Rays actually pisses me off more than losing Ellsbury. We cannot keep all of our prospects ... there is no room for all of them.
  7. This really sucks ... I had said it many times that Ellsbury would have been the bridge between the old and young. And yes the f...ing Yankees just got better and the Sox worse. And if Ellsbury cranks 20+ HR's that I predicted he will the Yanks got a lot better. We can only hope that Cano does go to Seattle but I doubt that he will. Never ever take your eyes off the Yankees. Now two of my three must-sign's Ellsbury and Hanigan are gone to competitors from the same division no less. Now when Napoli signs with Detroit it will complete the shittiest off-season that I can remember. Anyway, better move Mookie Betts to the Outfield so we can groom him to be our next great lead-off man. Special thanks to Jacoby who was the best lead-off hitter the Sox have had in the past 40 years. He was a huge part of 2 championships in the past 7 years. Do the Sox counter with Tanaka or will we stand pat?
  8. I am not surprised at all.
  9. The Rays signed Molina then Hanigan giving them 2 of the best defensive catchers in the game. Is it possible that the Rays signed Hanigan to keep him off the Sox? Tampa knows how to win with pitching and elite catchers make pitchers better.
  10. True but the cost of Hanigan and Bell combined for 2014 may well come in around the same as A.J.'s one year deal and maybe the Rays know something about Bell ... he could he be a help to their pen?
  11. 2014 - Hanigan - Ross - Vasquez 2015 - Hanigan - Vasquez - Butler 2016 - Vasquez - Hanigan - Swihart 2017 - Vasquez - Swihart -
  12. This is true but I have yet to have a taker.
  13. How in hell did the Sox loose out on Hanigan to the Rays of all teams. Hanigan's 3 year deal is far superior to the Sox 1 year deal with A.J.
  14. I bet a steak dinner that Bogaert's 2014 WAR > Drew's 2013 WAR
  15. Tampa never gives up jack ... they are masters of selling off their players at their high. It's bad when TB out bids you for a player.
  16. I never saw this one coming .. I wonder what happened with Hanigan ... I wish Salty continued success and give him credit for contributing to our 2013 World Championship.
  17. Yeah ... why would not the Sox outbid Toronto for Navarro ... he signed for 8M/2. Sox could have offered 9-10M/2
  18. Well Pierzynski is on our team now so we should be routing for the guy. Let's hope Vasquez comes is promoted in 2014 as it means he is ready and that will be a great thing for the next 8 years or so ... as we have seen in the off season an elite catcher is a prized commodity and Vazquez has been said to have a very high ceiling.
  19. Pedroia, Ortiz and Lester will lead the 2014 club to the playoffs in 2014. Boegarts, WMB, JBJ, Nava, Victorino, Buchholz, Koji, will provide solid years. It will be interesting one way or another. Now if I can only convince UN to sign Ellsbury.
  20. ok ... either way I think everyone would like to see us sign Nap's ... the other options out there are not as convincing are they?
  21. Nap's DWAR was .4 in 2013.
  22. yeah ... Ew is right but it is only for 1 year ... seems high to me
  23. It is obvious that the FO thinks that Vasquez is near ready in 2014.
  24. Hart if healthy can match or exceed Napoli's numbers. Bogaerts will exceed Drews WAR.
  25. That will be interesting. He earned what 7.5M last season. I am thinking 1 year at 6M
