  1. I think they should trade brock holt to a contender if a contender beomes desperate enough to want a super utility player that could fill in for any injured players or who could be put in the lineup 4 times a week to give other players a rest. I still doubt any contender would give up something decent for him though.
  2. Lets trade pedroia to the yanks for severino.
  3. What sucks when the sox aren't competitive is that they become pretty much unwatchable. You don't have to win a world series every year and it's okay to miss the playoffs sometimes if you remain a competitive team until the end of septemeber. When they remain competitive until the end of the season, they are watchable the whole season. Of course we would be bummed if they didn't make the playoffs and still be mad at the front office, but at least we would have 6 months of decent baseball to watch. This, like last year, is a damn joke.
  4. Please don't lose 5 straight.
  5. Besides his poor defense, the other problem with Hanley this season is his ops. .790 isn't a bad ops by any means, but it's low for a guy with 19 hrs and a .265 batting average. He doesn't walk and somehow only has 6 doubles on the season.
  6. Way to hustle papi.
  7. He also certainly needs to work on his slider.
  8. The simple solution would be for him to dip his head every time he throws a pitch.
  9. There hasn't really been any middle ground for e-rod this year. He has either been amazing or awful when the hitters know exactly what he is gonna throw.
  10. You could tell the last 4 or so at bats the angels knew exactly what was coming.
  11. Owens kind of reminds me of a lefty version of Jered Weaver. Thery're both tall and skinny and have mediocre fast ball velocities but not bad fastballs. They both have to rely more on offspeed pitches. Owens probably will not be as dominant as Jered Weaver was in 2011 and 2012, but he could be a similar pitcher if he can keep control of his pitches.
  12. The whole al is not that great this year. Other than the royals who have been good because of decent hitting and a fantastic bullpen, everyone else is pretty mediocre. Only one other team, Minnesota, is on pace for 90 wins or more. No team is laughably bad either, as the the last place athletics are on pace for 72 wins. It would really be a shame if the sox don't take advantage of a weak al.
  13. First three get on and then papi can hit a hr. Easy enough.
  14. You gotta be kidding.
  15. And rick the prick continues to give up hrs
  16. This maurer guy is terrible.
  17. If they don't win at least two games in the series, the white flag will be waved.
  18. Just a weird game. David Ortiz, who has been horrendous versus lefties this year, was one of the lone bright spots with two hits and wade miley had a no hitter going into the seventh.
  19. I agree with you. From what I read last year and from prospect rankings, Henry was definitely ahead of Eduardo. They were down on him last year because his velocity wasn't as high and for control issues like you said.
  20. That is true. His babip was low last year as well. It's mainly due to how few ground ball hits he gets. When he goes oppo its usually a line drive or a fly ball.
  21. Porcello and Kelly have been the surprises.
  22. I can't even imagine how much it would take to get chris sale,
