  1. I was hoping will could at least be an average hitter this year. Doesn't seem too promising thus far.
  2. Really depressing game tonight. Had multiple opportunities to score but didn't get it done.
  3. Cmon nap its time to go yard
  4. Hahahahahhah true. In addition, his batting was pretty pedestrian this year until the twins series started. Hes raised his batting average by nearly 40 points since the start of that series.
  5. True, yet last year he was hitting .315 with risp.
  6. Wow. At least papi makes up for it in hr power.
  7. Ya looking at it now, hes had 34 abs with runners in scoring position which is as much as big papi.
  8. I still find it hilarious how Xander only has 5 rbis even though he has played nearly every game. Although he hasn't had a great amount of at bats with runners in scoring position, hitting .118 with risp certainly doesn't help.
  9. Its about time for nap to go deep.
  10. Should have just bunted
  11. Good job david. Made me eat my words
  12. Why the hell is ross still in the game. He cant hit.
  13. Only guy hitting the ball hard consistently lately is papi. Pedroia's been pretty consistent lately too, but Nap is like 2 for his last 24 or something like that and hasn't homered since the first game of the yankees series off of tanaka nearly a month ago.
  14. Sub 200 average for will now. Im getting really tired of his horrendous at bats. Was hoping that game tying single he got yesterday would help him out.
  15. A winning streak more than 2 would be cool.
  16. Would like to see nap go deep here. Last time he homered was off of Tanaka.
  17. Is BABIP calculated by taking the the amounts of hits a player has, subtracting that by their hrs, and then dividing that by their number of at bats not including strikeouts or is that not right?
  18. True. I think that his hr and double numbers may improve slightly or stay around the same, I just hope his batting average won't drop like his BABIP suggests.
  19. True. True. The only thing that is concerning is how low his batting average was even with his high BABIP, as people with similar BABIPs like Freddie Freeman, Mike Trout, and Joey Votto all had batting averages at least 46 points better than his.
  20. Ok, good to know. Could be attributed to the more hrs in 2012, as 24 of his 80 hits were hrs in 2012 compared to 23 of his 129 in 2013. That could definitely attribute to a a low babip in 2012. Also, do you think nap is set for a downer of a season ?
  21. I dont know if anyone has mentioned this before, but naps babip was .367 this year, which was good for seventh in the league. In recent years, his BABIP has swung up and down rapidly from season to season. In 2012, although it was a shortened season for him, he had a very similar strike out percentage to this year, yet his babip was down around 90 points, which resulted in a batting average 32 points lower.
  22. Red sox were the only team in the mlb this year with 5 qualifying players having at least a 290 average.
  23. David Ortiz, paul goldschmidt, and miguel cabrera were the only players to hit to at at least a 300/30/100 clip this year.
