  1. Yes, we know. And Will Middlebrooks is a deal pull hitter.
  2. That's because Doubront has great movement on his pitches. That cutter has been nasty today.
  3. Doubront's line doesn't look so bad. Ellsbury's dropped ball lead to two unearned runs. And if not for the Ellsbury double play, we'd probably be up 2-1.
  4. Relax, we're down one run.
  5. I like that he went after hitters there. He still has decent movement on his pitches.
  6. Doubront's 83 mph cutter has been his best pitch today.
  7. He'll be back up in a few days.

  9. Doubront's not going to get it done topping out at 91 mph. He's either really out of shape, hurt or both.

  11. Doesn't make sense to give up on Middlebrooks after one and a half bad months. It's not like he's a Daniel Nava type that came out of nowhere. He's a highly regarded, young player who has some serious talent.
  12. Jonathan Crawford would be a potential Yankees pick, JP, not so much. He's the best shortstop in the draft and he's been moving up in recent mocks, closer to the top 10.
  13. Position Prospect of the Day: Christian Vazquez, C, Red Sox (Double-A Portland): 4-4, 2 2B, 3B, HR, 2 R, 2 RBI, BB; changed swing mechanics to shorten up; making consistent loud contact; line-drive stroke; plus defensive profile; most scouts I talk to believe he has the ability to play every day; .375/.444/.625 with 3 2B, 3B, and HR in last 32 at-bats. -Baseball Prospectus
  14. Kohl Stewart would be awesome, I just don't see him falling to seventh.
  15. @jimcallisba Updating tweet from this AM: Meadows still in #RedSox mix. Still believe their biggest hope is Kohl Stewart. #mlbdraft
  16. And I appreciate that you don't go in Red Sox game threads and spam that nonsense
  17. The knocks on Kaminsky are his size, the poor level of competition/short season in New Jersey and the fact that he may be on the expensive size because he's committed to UNC on paper. The knock on Denney is that he's looked pretty bad at catcher this spring and he may not be able to stick at the position. That's why he's fallen from a potential top 10 to a late first round projected pick. Not sure which Crawford you're talking about, there's a couple.
  18. I don't see the Drew vs. Iglesias thing as a major issue. They're both going to get playing time in the next couple of weeks. Once Middlebrooks comes back, I'd platoon them and use Iglesias as a late innings defensive replacement. Drew's a .272/.338/.442 hitter against righties and Iglesias is a .293/.326/.390 hitter against lefties.
  19. I don't think there are too many Red Sox fans that would object with the idea that the Yankees are a good team that is going to make a serious run at winning the division. It's the "the Red Sox are peaking", "they'll be a .500 team by the All-Star break" nonsense that I take issue with. That kind of stuff is antagonistic drivel, I wouldn't want to read it even if I was a Yankees fan. I understand why Yankees fans are excited, their team has had a lot of injuries and they're still a game ahead of the Red Sox. But the Red Sox have also outpitched the Yankees according to WAR, xFIP and FIP and they've played better defense according to UZR over a nearly 4,000 inning sample size. Those things aren't going to change because the Yankees get some of their injured position players back. So perhaps it's time for some or the more antagonistic Yankees fans to come to terms with the idea that this isn't 2012 anymore and the Red Sox are also a good team that could make a serious run at the division. Or at the very least make criticisms of the Red Sox that display an intelligence level above that of a four year old.
  20. Enjoy your one game lead in May. I'm going to go celebrate a Boston team winning in the playoffs.
  21. The fact that Lackey's pitched 20 less innings less only makes it that much better that he's matched Sabatha's WAR.
  22. Someone kick the jukebox, it's been stuck on "Mo Hasn't Blown A Save" for the last hour.
  23. He's just acting out because John Lackey is legitimately outpitching CC Sabathia.
  24. I've already pointed out how all the advanced stats suggest the Red Sox have been the better team. I'd do it again but I'm smart enough to realize by now that you're just trolling.
