  1. Four straight quality starts for Felix Doubront. Pitch f/x had him averaging 91.47 and hitting 93.71 mph on his fastball. That's the best velocity he's had this year.
  2. Just like Jackass said, it would be a battle of the bullpens and the Yankees would win.
  3. Ellsbury out, Victorino out, Middlebrooks out, Pedroia playing hurt. Tied series with Buchholz pitching tomorrow.
  4. Bruins 3, Unstoppable High Scoring Penguins 0 Gee, imagine that. Bruins were in Crosby's head half way through the second period. Boston's playing with house money now.
  5. http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100925041007/tv-televisionandfilm/images/c/c9/Booyah.gif SOX WIN! BRUINS WIN! Good day to be a Bostonian.
  6. Between periods, Bruins up a goal on the Pens. Good to see Boston off to an early lead, looks like someone will be moving tonight.
  7. Sidney Crosby, the face of the NHL. http://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/11-sidney-crosby-dive-hockey-dive-gifs.gif
  8. As I already pointed out, there's no change in the amount of swing and misses players are making. This seems like Will Middlebrooks all over again.
  9. Actually, swing rates and swinging strikes are down. The higher strike outs aren't correlated to anything other than the umpires calling more strikes. http://cdn.fangraphs.com/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Swing9312.jpg http://cdn.fangraphs.com/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/StrikeTrends1.png http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-myth-of-the-passive-hitter/
  10. Way too early to look at 2014, we don't even know what 2013 will look like.
  11. Can we just all take a moment to appreciate the fact that Bogaerts is hitting .290/.380/.478 as a 20 year old in Double-A? He has the highest walk rate of his career and more and more scouts are saying he'll be able to stick at shortstop. If he gets hot this summer like he did last year, he could be ranked as the best prospect in baseball.
  12. Wrong thread. Sorry!
  13. Clint Frazier had this to say about Keith Law ranking him behind Meadows: Tell me that doesn't sound like something Pedroia would say.
  14. The '11 Canucks had a goal differential of +77, the Penguins would have been on pace for a goal differential of +78.6 over a full season. Seems pretty similar... Oh and both hand injuries, so please don't try that route when backtracking.
  15. You bore me. And I mean it when I say that, I'm not just whining. I'm done responding to you.
  16. All I've seen you do is pick fights with people on this site.
  17. How are they "way" better?
  18. Guess I don't bore you then. Stop censoring me!
  19. If that's true, then don't respond.
  20. You didn't correct any facts.
  21. But his walk rates and groundball rates are both near career bests.
  22. Yeah, I can't wait. My only gripe is that the game is on at the same time as Red Sox/Yankees. Red Sox should be an afternoon game.
  23. I think Lester will be alright, his strike outs are up from last year, and his walks are at a career low. His ground ball rates are the highest they've been in any year other than 2010, which was a career year for him. And he's keeping hits in the ballpark. He should be good for an ERA around 3.50, which is good enough for a second starter.
  24. Best regular season teams in the league. The playoffs are a different animal, as we saw when the Bruins faced the Canucks, and had the chance to wear them down physically over seven games. The longer this series goes, the bigger the advantage for Boston. The Penguins should be looking to make this series quick, like 91 or 92 when they played in the Eastern Conference Finals.
