  1. He battled today. Even at 80% he’s better than all but a few pitchers.
  2. He’s giving it everything he has. Can’t ask for more. A lot of guys would not be playing.
  3. Not his best stuff. Too few first pitch strikes and too many pitches.
  4. They don’t have to spend it before the deadline. Unless they can get someone of high value (unlikely) they could and SHOULD wait until the offseason when FAs become available.
  5. Nope. I’m glad the got rid of him and his s*** attitude. But now the need to spend that $255M rather than pocket it.
  6. Understood. Let me clear it up. I don’t think they SHOULD make a move that trades anyone significant this year because I don’t think they will be able to plug enough holes for this team to make an enjoyable October run. Saves those moves for the offseason. That said if they don’t try to improve the team that says to me that management is STILL not committed to putting a good product on the field-AGAIN. Last year they played it halfway. That indecisiveness demoralized the players and told the fans what the FO thought of the team. If Breslow did pull off something significant-even though I think it’s a mistake-it would demonstrate a level of commitment to improving the team I haven’t seen in several years. But he has to go ALL IN-not some half assed effort like last year. I would applaud him for committing to improving the team-even though I think it’s fruitless this year.
  7. The Yankees were busy. The just traded for a 3B man. The deadline is just five days away and so far Breslow has done nothing-especially not spending a dime the cheapskate owner saved by jettisoning the malcontent Devers. From what I have read ownership isn’t inclined to make any major moves-which is actually probably a good decision given the talent level on the team today.
  8. There are way too many holes on this team to be able to fix to make the FLOPS competitive this year. I don't want to see them trading away anyone significant in some futile attempt to make a deep Oct run which will never happen. It would be much better to just write off this year like they did the past 3-4 years and spend all that money they saved when they got rid of the malcontent Devers. Maybe then they can try to be competitive in 3-4 years.
  9. Just can’t keep getting behind and expect to win. This loss is yet another example.
  10. I know Bregman isn’t near 100% but he’s a gamer. He’s out there anyway giving the team whatever he has. A lot of players wouldn’t do that.
  11. Not a bad outing by Bello….but as it is in hockey playing catchup in sports is a losing proposition
  12. Abreu Ks on a ball in the dirt Its like a broken record with these bums
