  1. He could, but I certainly wouldn’t count on it based on his year to date performance. And while you can always improve areas of strength (like our bullpen) the most impactful way to improve the team is to address the weaknesses. That wasn’t done.
  2. It is. But the priorities I listed were higher in view of the fact that the best pen in the AL is in Boston.
  3. Yup. Matz has looked good so far-in all of two innings. But a RP wasn’t high on our needs list was it. We already had the best bullpen in the league. A #2 SP, a RHH 1B, and a backup catcher were higher priorities. Breslow just picked the low hanging fruit. I think all REAL Flops fans were disappointed.
  4. Now watch: May will turn it around and give the team several good quality starts and surprise everyone. Baseball is a funny game. Expect the unexpected.
  5. My guess is that Breslow took his marching orders from Henry and as a result he basically did nothing to improve the club, probably because Henry told him to be conservative. This sort of crap generally flows DOWNHILL.
  6. I think Breslow scraped the bottom of the barrel to get the M&M twins because had he not done that he would have been accused of doing absolutely NOTHING-which is pretty much what he did anyway. The announcers last night stated, like most Sox fans, that they were "disappointed" by the TD results. Wonder if they will still be announcing.......or if Henry will fire them.
  7. Exactly! Anyone who takes sports too seriously (ANY aspect of sports) has his or her priorities misplaced.
  8. In other words you finally recognize the need for me and people like me! Good start. Every forum deserves a resident genius 😉
  9. Glad you appreciate the humor! Perhaps if some others here saw it that way they wouldn’t get so stressed out.
  10. It’s still better than an echo chamber. You just can’t take Internet forums too seriously
  11. My post was a general comment about monolithic forums. They’re boring
  12. Since I think he’ll be fine I also think extending him was a good move. He has succeeded at every level.
  13. Whatever makes you think I hate this team? What I didn’t like is that Breslow had the opportunity to make them better at the deadline. I also don’t like their defense at times. There are……certain players….that could improve quite a bit. Fact is we are finally in contention for playing baseball in October-though there are still a lot of games left in which to blow it as they have in many years past. If they steady their course and avoid significant injuries the fans will finally be able to watch them play in October.
  14. I think Campbell will be fine-but they did rush him to the ML
  15. If you don’t post about both the positives and negatives the forum will become an echo chamber. Much less interesting if it’s monolithic
  16. If we get any kind of a lead tomorrow Cora shouldn’t have to use his high leverage relievers. Crochet is going
  17. Wong Ks on a ball in the dirt They never should have needed Chapman
  18. Credit where credit is due: great play by Abreu and Wong
  19. Except I’m not wrong about him. Everything I’ve written about him is true. Great defensive player; below average with a bat-in the mold of JBJ
