  1. Getting a shot of some sort (lidocaine, cortisone) is much different than suturing an ankle tendon to play baseball. Still, even doing that in the playoffs earned Schilling a permanent place in Boston baseball lore.
  2. That was also the playoffs. Schilling would not have done that in May.
  3. Honestly, I am not worried about our record right now. Its the pitching and how that is doing, and I am seeing signs that it is improving on all fronts and becoming more competitive. Now we need to see some consistency with the starting pitching....and Pedroia cannot be lost for a long period of time.
  4. EXCELLENT! Somehow Bard beat Verlander tonite.
  5. Angels 3, Yankmees 0 Third inning
  6. At this rate even his arm is being tested, I'm sure. When Bailey returns he will get a break I guess.
  7. Good to see Ace in the game, but if he keeps pitching this much his arm is going to fall off. He should not have pitched last night.
  8. His OPS over 4 years in NY is .872; thats not too shabby.
  9. Game over in Toronto. Orioles lose. If we can hold on to this lead we are behind by just three games.
  10. Damn Jays' pen is blowing the game. They still lead 8-6 in the ninth, two on, one out for the O's
  11. Still waiting for the results of the MRI to be made public. Thats where the money is.
  12. I think he was worth what he is being paid last year. This year, obviously not. He is going to have to really rake for the last four months to earn that much. Not sure he can do it.
  13. Weren't you discussing eating feces for a while tonite? G'nite
  14. Final score: White Sox 7; Damn Rays 2.
  15. Does following a team for 50 years constitute loyalty? I wish that they would win every game too. When the players play well, I cheer for them. When they play poorly for long periods of time, they get booed. Comes with the territory of being a Red Sox player. Its as old as the game itself. Loyalty has nothing to do with giving anyone the benefit of the doubt. Bandwagon fans move away when the team is losing. Real loyalty is sticking with the team, following it regularly, when they are losing for years and years and years.
  16. WAY too much arguing about balls and strikes by too many Sox players.
  17. Well, maybe since Agon is mediocre, YOU could disappear until he does. Deal?
  18. $22M per year. But who's counting.
  19. You say its "probable" that he will return to career norms; I says its "possible". Even good players have off years. A star player is fair game for complaints if he is not performing for long periods of time. He did great last year; he got kudos for it. This year, he is very mediocre and is getting well deserved complaints. When you are being paid what he is being paid, thats the way it is.
