Hey-I thought he should have been fired for two years running. I just don't see it happening. His team won the ALE with a lot of guys underperforming and with Price gone for nearly the whole season. If I were the GM I would fire him as soon as the Sox get eliminated by the Astros. But its not going to happen.

Farrell will be back. Teams that finish first usually do not fire their manager for it.

Actually he isn't paid that much. $12M this year; $12.M next year; $15M the year after. Then he is an UFA.

His velocity is down a bit, and he is missing his spots. Farrell needs to manage his innings better next year.

The pen has to come in and try to hold them to four runs. Sale is going to give up more very soon. He needs to get some weight on his body and it has to be muscle weight.

I knew Nunez was a liability. He has a posterior cruciate sprain...it takes weeks to heal, maybe 6 weeks. They rushed him back.

Interesting factoid: Without looking it up, which POSITION player has the highest WAR on the team after Mookie? And which position player on the postseason roster has the LOWEST WAR?

Both Porcello and Fister have had a lot of problems with the first inning....so you almost have to have ERod warming up alongside the SP for a "quick hook" to be useful. Otherwise we could easily be down 3-4 runs by the the time we pick up a bat.

As I wrote elsewhere, I think it would have been much smarter to delay naming the G2 SP until the results of G1 are in. If we win we start Porcello, who has actually pitched well on the road this year and have Pom and Fister or ERod for game 4 after Pom. If we lose, we don't want to be down 2-0 so start Pom in G2. I don't like the way Farrell has set up the team's SPs.

Wouldn't Sale be going on three days rest? I don't like that idea, given the number of innings he has pitched this year. We won't likely be getting vintage Sale.
