  1. I am talking about experiencing failure and losing your confidence. I think he has the mental toughness of silly putty. And I am talking about what happened to Chamberlain in NY. You remember that fiasco, right? In 2008 he was a very good RP with an ERA of 2.60. The next year they made him a SP and he sucked; ERA: 4.75. So they put him back in the pen in 2010 and he still sucked: ERA: 4.40. That could easily happen to Barf....I mean Bard.
  2. Its really not predictable. Even odds.
  3. How much longer is Cherries going to allow Bard to embarass himself as a SP? Its gotta end soon you would think. He had his chance; he blew it.
  4. Bard shits his pants. This is no starting pitcher. Good thing this game is gravy if we win it.
  5. Bard about to walk the bases loaded. And he wonders why V takes him out of games so soon.
  6. Bard had to open his big mouth about wanting to be left in games longer-then he walks the first guy he faces. All talk Bard.
  7. There is not a single team in baseball that is completely healthy. And the majority of our injuries have been to position players this year. Lackey and DiceK, whatever value you assign them, were hurt last year and were not part of this year's starting team. Fortunately, our starting five have remained fairly healthy. Their health is the key to any success our team has this year. We all saw what happened last year when we had to use our 7th and 8th SP options excessively. Regardless, injuries should never be used as an excuse for failure. They are part of the game, a part the Red Sox do seem not to play well.
  8. All in all, I would rather be UP two games than DOWN two games. We keep playing like this and we will be IN first place very soon. The Orioles do have a function this weekend: beat the Damn Rays.
  9. A win tomorrow would be gravy. Lets do it.
  10. Always with the bitching from you...
  11. No matter; we are winning. And we are getting out of the cellar.
  12. Gonzo K's on a ball nearly in the dirt.
  13. He does have hair between his toes....
  14. Valentine was the first one to congratulate Punto...so nice to have a manager that is mentally into the game like him. Bet the players really appreciate that kind of support.
  15. Pinto cinches it for the Sox...who'd have thunk it?
  16. Wow. Stupid baserunning by the Jays bails us out. That is going to cost them the game, if it weren't already over.
  17. Sloppy sloppy baseball. No need for that at all.
