    #5?? I think more like #3-4 SP. In the upcoming years this is going to have to be satisfactorily addressed. Its been that way since 2008, off and on at least for Lester. Once these horrible contracts are off the books they can go out and get some better SP. Its going to take time.

    There is only one Beckett. And its not pretty. Same with Lester. Just not as much talent as some folks give them.

    Time to get Beckett out of this game. He has shown his true talent enough level already. If we want to stay in this game we need to get him out of there.

    I live out here. He hit and hit with power, had a good sense of balls and strikes, and was a pretty amazing 3B to watch defensively. Back problems got to him. He almost retired.

    Its a miracle he is still playing, what with the injuries he has had. He was once very very good.

    The point is this ReCheck: there are no dummies on this board. Everyone can see what is happening, and no one is happy about it. SFF still thinks they have a chance, but in the end I think he too will come around. No need to rub his nose (or anyone else's nose) in the dog s*** that is this team.

    Thats the spirit! But Nava is not the problem. He has had a plus year, especially given his level of talent.

    I wish the fans would do something more demonstrative here.....loud nonstop booing, hanging moons, walking out...something. There is not much we here can do to express our dissatisfaction with the effort of the team this year. Really, its time to blow it up. Now.

    This is just like it was when I was a Sox fan back in the 80s. I remember I went to one game, but was late by about an hour. I thought I had missed about three innings. I missed half an inning. The Yankees were up 11-0.

    Hate to say it, but this game is going exactly as I thought it would. Beckett stinks and should be traded-soon. When I wrote that Beckett was going to show us what he is made of this game, this is exactly what I had envisioned. Why not get rid of the bum and try to get something for him while he still has some small value?

    Naw...the season is over anyway. This entertainment is like a video game. Mindless stuff. This should only serve to cement in everyone's mind just how bad this team really is.
