  1. I thought Pomeranz was marginally better last night. And he hit 92 on the gun. I would allow him one more start. If he fails, as much as I do not trust Wright, I would give him a chance. Velasquez would be my second option. Johnson is not ready for prime time.
  2. My bet offer still stands...interested?
  3. Its rarely helpful, at least not for long. Sometimes it gives temporary relief of pain, but its not a permanent fix. I had it done on my shoulder and it did essentially nothing. I can't even imagine how badly it works for knees-I don't have to walk on my shoulder. Its likely that even if Pedroia makes it through this year it will be his last.
  4. Just get Beni a chance up there
  5. True, but tackling the runner is legal. Devers should have clotheslined him.
  6. Devers has had a great game defensively.....
  7. We are going to need JD to hit a HR here....the bottom part of the lineup does not inspire confidence tonight. Would have been nice if Moreland and Bogaerts had reached...
  8. Ummm...we still have six more outs.
  9. Who wrote that the weakness of the Astros is their pen earlier? Just looked it up...they are #1 in the league.
  10. Is Devers chewing a toothpick out there?? Sure looked like it.
  11. Pomeranz keeps giving up on average a run an inning....uggh
  12. Pomeranz is toast....I would now take him out of the starting rotation.
  13. He needs to improve in that area
  14. Nice...K Maybe just maybe that will get him turned around.
  15. Apparently it wasn't interference. Not sure what the exact rule is on that...are you? In any event it wasn't interference because it wasn't CALLED interference.
  16. Microfracture surgery rarely works well....I think he should give it up. Save his joint for real life.
  17. This will be his last start
  18. Pomeranz has no idea where his pitches are going
  19. Or maybe Cora realizes, as I have been maintaining for a long time, that it is time to see what Swihart can offer the team. He is going to be on the roster anyway it seems. He should be more than a wart upon the roster....its time for him to sink or swim.
  20. Since you are so convinced that whichever team signs Hanley will be on the hook for his vesting option, let me offer you this bet: I bet that the vesting option will never happen. If I lose, I donate $100 to your favorite charity. If you lose you donate $100 to MY favorite charity. I do not bet often-only when I am sure of the result. What say you??
  21. I think we both agree that DFAing him was the desirable thing to do for the good of the team. Even if he was good this year the likelihood that he would be worth $22M next year was nearly zero. I wish him well, but I am glad the Sox didn't do anything stupid.
  22. It definitely had to do with his performance AND the option. Hanley stunk last year too....and he was headed in the same direction this year. If the Hanley of 2016 was performing he would still be on the team, option or no option.
  23. If Hanley was raking I do not think he would have been DFA'd. So part of it was performance related too. The rest of it we will never know about for sure, other than what we can observe watching the games.
