    Making the playoffs because Ramirez is performing well isn't enough for me to want him on the team next year-we have to have a realistic chance to win a ring. We should have a pretty decent idea (yes, I know nothing is certain once we get into the playoffs) of where we stand relative to the other playoff teams. If we can go DEEP into the playoffs, go for broke. Otherwise, next year we will BE broke.

    Obviously that was an exaggeration. However, he had an OPS of .726 last year and so far this year its under .400. How much time do you give him to prove he can hit the baseball? I say another month or so.

    You forgot the best team of the bunch. Although they are playing earlier (now) they have been the best team in hockey since November.

    The point is that he should be batting around 7-8th-if he is in the lineup at all. He needs to earn a spot. Over the past year he has not done that.

    Its not just one game. It was an entire season last year AND one game this year. Archer is not a slouch, I agree. Ramirez is a slouch.

    Its too early to offer a catcher. Swihart is versatile enough to play other positions, and its still not known if he is adequate defensively or if Leon can hit the baseball.

    Benni will never be the defensive OFer that JBJ is. My point is that if JBJ cannot hit the ball then Benni's offense will more than make up for what he lacks in defensive ability in comparison to JBJ.

    And how many starts has he had in CF? Just asking...I haven't checked. I doubt that those CF stats are based on anything like a significant sample size. I have no doubt that given more experience out there Benny would do just fine in CF. Its not my first choice; my first choice is to give JBJ a chance to show he can hit. However, at some point you have to throw in the towel with him no matter how good he is defensively. I would give him about 3 months to produce respectable stats at the plate.
