  1. Tanaka is expected to miss at least a month, but with hamstring injuries, as Jacko knows, it could be much longer. Some medical people think that they never really completely heal. Masahiro Tanaka to DL with hamstring injury WWW.MLB.COM NEW YORK -- Masahiro Tanaka is expected to miss about a month due to low grade strains in both of his hamstrings, said Yankees general manager Brian Cashman, who believes that the club has internal options capable of filling the vacancy in the rotation.Tanaka sustained the strains while tagging up
  2. Thats what I heard. OB said it during the broadcast several times-that he was expected to play today but that he wanted one rehab game on Friday night. Obviously batting practice didn't go so well.
  3. Meanwhile Mookie was supposed to play in a rehab game yesterday and didn't do it. He was supposed to return to the lineup today too. Looks like his injury is lasting longer than expected.
  4. I posted earlier somewhere that I expect him back right after the ASB.
  5. He is very young....I haven't seen talent in either player yet. Neither is producing.
  6. I am not a fan of his...I just think he hasn't been given a chance. If he sucks after about 150 PAs or so, DFA him
  7. If he can hit he is my starting catcher
  8. Swihart has had a total of 60 PAs before this game. Very small sample size. I admit that he hasn't looked good, but I am not going to give up on him just yet. Lets see how he does after 150-200PAs. JBJ on the other hand has sucked for a very long time. Its time to get rid of him. And Devers has to go back down to iron out his issues too, once Pedroia comes back-if he comes back.
  9. "back spasms".....
  10. Devers and Bradley fan=predictable. We can't win with both those guys in the lineup.
  11. Time to sit Devers for a long long time
  12. Devers isn't even going to make contact
  13. Bunt into the shift Mitch!!
  14. If you believe in dWAR, Bradley ranks 16th of all 58 AL CFs. Thats good, but not great. Many are better.
  15. He is good, but not great, in CF defensively. There are several better defensive CFs in MLB. His horrible and uncoachable very offensive offense can't possibly make up for whatever good his defense brings to this team. Castillo's problem is his salary cap issues.
  16. Bradley is horrible again...golfing at the third pitch then taking two right down broadway. Horrible.
  17. Batting .314/.771 He will never see the majors
  18. Sale deserves better than this effort by the offense. His lack of run support is getting old.
  19. Sure it does. I would assume that he had a mildly sore back in those other games, giving Cora a convenient excuse for him missing tonights game, even though he could have played.
  20. Except that he has already committed (according to OB) to being back in the lineup tomorrow.
  21. JD was probably due for a day off anyway and instead of catching flack from the media about why he isn't playing tonight he has a phantom injury. JMO.
  22. Bradley is getting back into some of his old bad habits.
  23. Not going to turn this into a medical debate about low back pain...but the causes of it include the paragraph below. The most common cause is "idiopathic", ie they don't have a clue why its happening. "A back spasm can occur after any type of strain or injury to the soft tissues—the muscles, tendons or ligaments—in the spine. Following the general treatment guidelines below and the recommendations from your doctor or physical therapist will go a long way in relieving your pain, and your back muscles should calm down in a week or so. The muscles can spasm in response to an underlying anatomic problem If your back spasm does not get better inal problem 1 to 2 weeks, or it comes and goes over time in the same area of your back, you may have an underlying anatomical problem in your spine. Examples of underlying issues that could cause your back to spasm include: Facet joint osteoarthritis Degenerative disc disease Spinal stenosis Pain from a herniated disc"
