  1. You just can't get Mookie out nowadays.
  2. I think Bradley has options. If that is correct, he should be sent down until he corrects his problems, if that ever occurs.
  3. Today: .167/.513 And he is starting tonight.
  4. Well thats exactly the point: some of the other guys are overperforming to date. Mookie is at 1.172 OPS, career .862 Bogaerts is at .918/.756 Moreland is at 1.005/.764 JD is at 1.051/.868 This isn't going to continue. That is why we cannot afford two black holes.
  5. To be honest, I really don't care about the other teams. I ONLY care about making THIS team better, making THIS team the best it can be.
  6. Unfortunately, there is no alternative to our weak hitting catchers other than giving Swihart a chance. There are, however, ways to improve the OF in terms of offense, by sitting a guy who has proven for a long long time now that he cannot hit. I do not think that will change.
  7. I think we have seen what will happen when two black holes are in the lineup at the same time. For the past what-25 games or so-we are barely above a .500 team. And as much as I hate to agree with Jacko, we cannot continue to rely on JD and Betts absolutely mashing the ball all year long. We need at least 8 guys in the lineup who are threats. Bradley should sit.
  8. Of course its true that the OF defense suffers with JBJ on the bench. But our offense suffers even more with him in the lineup. He is as close as it comes to an automatic out. If our catchers were hitting we could tolerate his incompetence offensively, but we cannot afford two black holes in the lineup every day.
  9. 6-2= win 6-0= win They are the same. Great game by Price.
  10. His defensive problems are well documented.
  11. Good for nothing at 3B you mean...he is last in fielding percentage for all 3B in the AL. He has made a couple of nice plays tonight, but overall, the best that can be said for him defensively is that he is a work in progress.
  12. I believe that is exactly what Buck said to him as he crossed the third baseline to remove him before Bogey even crossed home plate
  13. I am not a big JBJ fan, ....but...how do you walk a guy who's hitting 9th and batting .170??
  14. Wow....they just walked Bradley.
  15. Leon and Bradley are also an impressive duo in the 8 and 9 spots...in a different way. I guess Holt felt he had to swing at ball four given who was on deck.
  16. Swihart deserves a chance to play regularly, either here or somewhere else. He hasn't been given a fair shot at the job. He may or may not be better than who we have now, but we will never find out with him on the bench. As for Bradley......Cora keeps inserting him into the lineup and expecting different results. Isn't that the definition of insanity?
  17. I don't think three runs are going to win this game...about six sounds right with this bullpen
  18. One the other hand, if he was given playing time maybe he would prove that he was good enough....maybe not, of course. Point is, he was never really given a chance behind the plate. I don't blame him for wanting out.
  19. We are a sub .500 team now over the last 23 games....thats a long period of time to be mediocre.
  20. They should send him down yesterday. Unfortunately, he has shown us exactly what he can do at the plate. Add to that the fact that he is uncoachable, and I think his future with this team is almost as nebulous as that of Swihart, who never got a fair chance at catcher and playing regularly.
  21. Does Bradley have options left? I thought they would need to put him through waivers in order to send him down.
  22. That is what I disagree with. Could he really be worse than the two guys we have now?
  23. There is a place for him since we have two catchers who have already proven that they cannot hit the baseball.
