  1. He isn't even our #5 SP....he has been a pleasant surprise...except this start.
  2. This s*** is getting old
  3. Just the guys who can run...its something that really should be done.
  4. Gotta get at least one run here....
  5. HBP two days ago
  6. So much for game one.
  7. Getting the lead is going to be a key to winning this game.
  8. Sorry, but this is delusional. Vasquez is having a bad year by any measure-in fact, a REALLY bad year. You are stuck on his 2017 performance where he hit .290/.735 and had a dWAR of +.3. This year is totally different: he is at .213/.548/-0.2. If Swihart continues to perform HE is our starting catcher. He is better offensively, decent defensively, and can also run, something neither of our other catchers can do. In addition, he can play multiple positions. All these facts make Vasquez expendable on the playoff roster-IF Swihart continues to perform.
  9. If Swihart continues to perform then would submit that there is no room for VASQUEZ on the roster.
  10. MRIs are not dangerous at all unless you have metal implants. They are not like XRays and do not transmit any harmful energy. They are expensive, but compared to what ML players are being paid its a drop in the bucket. The Red Sox medical staff has a history of delayed and missed diagnoses, and with Bogaerts' injury history it would seem prudent that an MRI be obtained if only to reassure him. I think its dumb if one was not done already. Why wait?
  11. Yeah...the Yankees have a problem on their hands, and his name is Sonny Gray. Didn't make it to three innings and surrendered five runs. German is no better. Guess they are putting their bets on Happ and Lynn....along with Severino. Sabathia is unreliable, and Tanaka has been underwhelming as well. Great bullpen...but their SP is a problem.
  12. The money is in the MRI....
  13. OOPS Just trying to confuse the Yankee fans here....seriously though, I do not recall anyone mentioning a drop in velocity in any of his starts after the ASG. Do you? I think that would have been news.
  14. OK. 100 then. Doesn't sound like a guy with a sore shoulder. My guess is that its likely a phantom injury. Everyone in the organization knows what happened to him last year when he just wore down. The team is all in this year, going for broke. They have as good a chance as the Yankees and the Astros to win a ring IMO. Why not rest your ace for the stretch run? We have a five game lead on the Yankees and have won 7 more games...hard to disagree with the game plan.
  15. He hit 98 in the ASG and hasn't pitched since.
  16. Gotta PH with Betts if Kinsler doesn't hit into a DP
  17. Not going to win this one....on to the Yankees. The bats had better wake up.
  18. Swihart is earning himself a catcher's job...great job defensively tonight
  19. Unfortunately this means one more start.
  20. When can we take Nunez out of the lineup....and Moreland needs to grab some pine too if he can't hit better than this.
  21. He bails out on every swing. Hard to hit that way.
  22. The beginning of the end of Drew Pomeranz....what's your hurry Drew? Here's your coat........
  23. Are we really going to waste a leadoff double again??
  24. Sale threw at his usual velocity during his 9 pitches in the ASG....generally if you have a significant injury you don't throw at 98. I am not overly concerned.
