  1. Our bullpen is going to be competitive in the playoffs. Don't forget: we have the best offense in the game, and the other guys are going to have to face our lineup. I don't see us dominating Houston or NY, but the reverse is also true. Whoever gets hot will be in the WS.
  2. Not any more. I think Johnson is much more effective as a SP.
  3. That is factually inaccurate, as I noted above. We are fourth in ERA in the AL for RPs, just 0.35 RPG behind the leader. Although we are sixth in WHIP for RPs we are just 0.03 from being third. We are also fourth in OPSa. No pen is going to do the job every game. The Yankees "dominant pen" didn't do so well against us last time out, did they. We have a decent pen, not a great one. We have a great offense and a very good rotation. This team has as good a chance as Houston and NY win a ring.
  4. There are 8 bullpens in the AL that are shakier.
  5. Our ******* just struck a guy out with the bases loaded. This is not a bad bullpen at all. They are fourth in the league in ERA...I will take that.
  6. Take him out right now
  7. We will be very lucky if Thornburg gets out of this inning unscathed....looking pretty horrible out there today. I would have someone up in the pen right now.
  8. Not liking Thornburg's command here
  9. Wasted opportunity there....
  10. The decision to start a game rests with the home team. The decision to stop the game (temporarily or otherwise) rests with the umps.
  11. His improvement began on June 23 or thereabouts. On that date he was hitting .178/.563; in 37 games and 142 PAs since then he has hit .268/.842. Of late he has been hitting the ball to all fields. I think earlier he was trying to pull everything and couldn't catch up to a fastball. Now he is fouling them off if they are not hittable strikes. Lets hope it continues.
  12. Damn...Yankees up 5-3 on a HR by Anduhar
  13. Rangers just tied up the Yankees on a balk by Betances
  14. I doubt they would pair OB, the main announcer, with a guy who he hates. Its just not good business.
  15. Hembree has not been consistently good, but overall I think he has been OK; I believe Kelly will find his groove again.
  16. Barnes has been pretty reliable; so has Brasier. Thornburg lately has been very good as well. No pitcher gets the job done EVERY time out there. I think this pen is good enough to compete for a ring, especially when you combine it with the SP and the offense we have.
  17. OPSa: tied for 4th at .669 http://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/pitching/split/128/league/al/sort/opponentOPS/type/expanded/order/false
  18. theeeeeeeeeeeee yankees lose!
  19. Down five runs and its the ninth inning in NY. Back to a 9 game lead.
  20. Benni was overdue...hope the Yankee fans saw that too.
  21. Sox pen is fourth in the league in ERA (fact); and Cora has led his team to the best record in baseball. He has made some bad decisions tonight, but overall he has done an excellent job.
  22. Hembree should be pulled right now-before he gives up the lead.
  23. Cora has had a bad game....
  24. I hope someone else is warming up...
