Another way to look at lying is "saying you are going to do something, having the means to do it, and failing to do what it takes to keep your word". In my book that is lying. Now if the team sucked I would not expect him to go for it in 2026. But they don't suck. They have an ace and a good rotation now that is deep and talented. They have a budding all star in Anthony and a decent but inadequate backup cast of players. This is our window. If we sucked we should be selling off our players and building for another year. I expect honesty from the owner.

Oh-of course he doesn’t want to lose! But he sure as hell doesn’t want to go all in on winning this year when we have a decent window to compete for a ring. Saying you want to win and having the means to compete for a ring but not spending to get the job done is another form of lying imo. It’s definitely dishonest.

I'll post this link again so everyone can see that only the Dodgers, the Yankees, and the Cubs have more revenue than the FLOPS. EXACTLY! I could swallow "I intend to make the franchise a small budget team and try to win that way". I wouldn't like it, but at least it is honest.

What bothers me more, I think, than he unwillingness to spend revenue on salaries, is that he lies about his desire to win championships. He is not an idiot; he knows it takes money to do that most of the time. But he lies to the face of the Sox fans unapologetically. Thats BS. He is exposed for what he is: a liar and a cheapskate.

Well....it IS his money and he has the right to spend it any way he wants. But the lack of willingness to spend the revenue on player salaries in order to make the team competitive is inconsistent with what in fact are his lies about wanting the team to win. He knows all too well what it would take to win-$$$ and good judgement. The good judgement part isn't directly his responsibility but the $$$ is something over which he has more direct control. He is feeding us fans a bunch of ********, claiming that he wants to win but isn't willing to spend the available money to do it.

Well they signed Ranger Suarez. Good move. I think he could be considered a decent #2. Now they need Bichette.

Just read an interview with loser Breslow and almost threw up. If I didn’t expect the litany of excuses I’ve belched I probably would have. ”Anytime you try to sign a player and lose….blah blah blah”

I'll write it again: Henry is a cheap SOB who will not make competitive offers to high end talent. We are going to be stuck with teams that will never compete seriously for a ring as long as he owns the team. Of the 30 teams in MLB the FLOPS ranks 23rd in percentage of revenue invested in salaries for the players, the rest going to the John Henry Family Relief Fund. Yes, there is still time to sign a couple of the high end FAs out there, but there is no reason to believe that will happen. We are going to be stuck with another season barely making the playoffs, if we make them at all. -
Actually I got it right most years the Flops won. Your memory must be failing you again. I correctly predicted we would not win a ring 18 of 22 years, an 82% accuracy rate. Thats remarkable. And some of the years they DID win I got right too. Like I said, I am usually spot on.

And as I pointed out two of our competitors in the ALE are outspending us and we haven’t even reached the LE tax threshold yet. It’s obvious that its profits over winning for the owner but hey- Henry’s family has to eat, right? Heres an interesting fact: the Flops rank 23rd in terms of the percent of revenue actually being spent on payroll. They only spend about 42% of the profits on payroll. The rest goes to Henry’s family relief fund. Well since the failed to sign any of the better FAs they had to sign Bregman. But they failed at that too. I doubt they do nothing too. There is still more time to dive deeper into the dumpster.

Just checked. You’re right: we are 8th. You know what else? Both the Jays and the Yankees are spending more and the results in the standings reflect that. We aren’t even at the LT threshold. So yeah, Henry is.cheap. He’s not spending enough WISELY to give his team a chance to compete.

I’d like to see proof of that. Even if it’s true he still is failing to sign quality players that would allow us to be competitive. We will likely be even worse than we were last year as things now stand.

Nah I’ll just stay here and provide my exceptional insight into the many ongoing failures of the Flops franchise. We will never win another ring with the current cheapskate owners in charge. They make me sick.

And now Bregman is off the table. Just signed with the Cubs. This Flops franchise is totally disgusting. They are wasting their window because Henry is a cheap SOB. The fans deserve better.
