  1. Agree. Greene plus a very good RHH bat would be a successful offseason. I do not think that the two Japanese players should count though. They are unproven. I am referring to a proven OPS bat who has hit over .800 OPS consistently. There are a few question marks who may also make an impact in 2026: Casas, Mayer, and Campbell. Not counting on them very much but it could happen. Meanwhile, we are not getting Greene OR a "thumper in the middle of the lineup" (as Breslow termed it).
  2. Last year we made the playoffs. Big improvement. This year I expect more. We have a window to compete for a ring. Its time Breslow and the cheapskate go all in to bring it home. Yeah, getting Greene would be an excellent start. Still need help on the offensive side. Chances of any of that happening given the history of this franchise: near zero.
  3. Yeah right. We need a "big thumper in the lineup" like we were going "full throttle" last year (or was it the year before-I forget since all the years seem so similar).
  4. Brady has the warped opinion that by getting Okamoto and Green and Kim we will suddenly be able to compete in the division. We won't and anyone who has been paying attention knows this. Dumpster diving by Henry is absolutely pathetic. Its disrespectful of the loyal fan base. I think we have two elite players: Crochet and Anthony, and we are about to waste the window to compete for a ring that their presence provides.
  5. As of now we are probably better than only the Rays in the division. Gray will make a fine #4 SP. We have holes everywhere and Henry and Breslow have shown no inclination to fill them with quality players. Likely going to be yet ANOTHER summer where we hold our noses from the stench of the franchise.
  6. King apparently had impingement of the long thoracic nerve. It causes weakness and pain in the shoulder. While physical therapy can help nerves are notoriously slow to recover-if they ever do. I’d approach signing him with great caution.
  7. Strange. When I first clicked on the link I got a pay wall message. Now that I read it it seems that he had a significant nerve injury to his shoulder. If that is fully healed he might be worth a shot, though apparently after he returned from his IL stint he wasn’t very good. The article further says he has a “strong interest” in playing in Boston- as long as their offer is the most lucrative for him (I added the last part)-which it almost certainly will not be.
  8. You know what he is going to do. The same thing has done for most of the last five years. Dumpster diving.
  9. Why thank you very very much! I will take that as a compliment!
  10. Like I said, crap franchise, crap owner. The only way we will ever be able to be serious competitors for a ring is if Henry sells the team
  11. I admit he spent some of his billions last winter. Good for him! He gave Devers’ salary away (along with other expiring deals) so he has so far pocketed nearly all of it, to the detriment of the team. He’s been cutting back for years. The fans have come to expect that he won’t spend anymore. He’s blowing our window up. It’s not just Alonso and Schwarber he won’t pay. It’s anyone else who is expensive. I’m not expecting us to sign anyone of consequence. Just more retreads like Gray.
  12. You have no idea whether the other 28 teams thought Philly overpaid. They just didn’t want to offer more. The fact is that he and Alonso were the top two HR hitters available on the FA market and Henry was too cheap to outbid the competition for either of them. In fact he’s too cheap to get anyone of significance this offseason. I don’t see that changing. They are wasting our window. Crap owner; crap franchise.
  13. Nope It’s over because Henry won’t spend the money for any top talent, just like the last several years when the opportunity to make the team real contenders presented itself. But hey-the Henry’s gotta eat, don’t they? Crap franchise. Crap owner.
  14. Pay wall Did we sign King while I wasn’t looking?
  15. You misunderstand me. The two guys we didn’t sign are just a SYMPTOM of Henry being a cheapskate. It’s why we won’t be getting any top notch players. Again.
  16. I like pitching too. So glad we got Sonny Gray as our #4. Where’s our #2? Last year we were below league average for HRs. And at the end of the year we struggled to score. While it’s nice to have well rounded players it’s even nicer to get guys who can hit it out of the park. I’d be shocked if we signed anyone but mediocre players like Sonny Gray.
  17. In other words you are not happy with the progress in improving the team either, at least so far. Not many are. Given the way Henry operates I am not expecting more than a bunch of sorry excuses from here on out, just like last year and the year before. The TD excuses were truly rich.
  18. We missed out on the two premier sluggers available on the FA market because our owner is too cheap to sign them. Its crystal clear that we needed a player or two of Schwarber or Alonso's caliber. Who is left out there of similar caliber for us to sign? If we have to make a trade for a player like that we surrender some of our guys. We also needed a solid #2 SP and we got.........Gray, a #4 at best. Squeaking into the playoffs followed by a rapid exit might be OK for some, but its not OK for me, not year after year, especially after the abyssmal results over most of the last five years.
  19. There's no yardstick for level of "entitlement", so claiming, as Brady does, that Flops fans are more entitled than Yankee fans is just a way of accepting mediocrity. Boston is a big market franchise. Its about time they started to behave like one.
  20. The point you obviously missed is that the Yankmees were better than us last year and they are getting their ace back. He was gone all year. We missed some guys for part of the year but no one as consequential as an ace SP. That team is going to be better just by getting Cole back out there every five days. I can't say the same thing about us getting Casas back, if he even returns. Are you happy with the "improvements" the Flops have made to the team this offseason? I mean getting Sonny Gray will certainly put us in contention for a ring now, right?
  21. Are you happy with the "improvements" so far with this team? I know the Boston sports writers aren't.
  22. They certainly did better than the flops. They tied for first place and only missed out on tiebreakers on first place. And getting Cole back is the same as getting Casas back in your mind? You are trying to tell me that Yankmee fans don’t want to win as much as we do? Laughable. The Yankmees are starting from a better position than we are. They have over the past several years done better than us because of poor management on our part-and Henry’s cheapskate ways.
  23. That’s exactly what I am telling him
  24. I doubt Flops fans feel any more entitled than Yankee fans. While the Yankees haven’t signed anyone they are getting their ace back. They won the division without him last year. Now how did the Flops improve again? Gray?
