    Mediocrity is THE worst. Bad means no expectations and a better draft pick to use for future success.

    Pretty heavy LHH tilt. I don’t see Ref as anything but a bench player and Reyes isn’t exactly a power hitter so Duvall is our only real RH power hitter if Turner leaves as expected. Duvall is too streaky to be dependable. So we’ll still need to replace Turner with one or two RHHers with power. Just one of our many needs.

    You’re assuming Turner won’t be back. If he leaves they will need to replace him with a RHH power bat. Too many LHH.

    Duran had a pretty good year. If he’s not in CF he has to be traded if Rafaela is our CF.

    So who plays CF next year? Duran or Rafaela? And what becomes of the other guy?

    He’ll probably be picked up by the A’s or Rays and have a sub 3 ERA next year.

    Agreed The management never decided which way to go at the deadline. They became catatonic, neither buyers nor sellers. And it cost them.

    Game over This team absolutely sucks

    Henry is going to need to loosen the purse strings if this team is going to be consistently competitive, no matter who the new GM is. We are now 13th in team salary after being in the top tier for a long time. While loosening the purse strings doesn't guarantee success its a good start. The good news is that the Yankees are #2 in team salary and they STILL SUCK!

    Of course it makes sense (and no, I’m not watching the game). If the team is good more often than not they play well and are interesting to watch. If the team is bad they get a good draft pick and have a better chance of winning in the future. Mediocre teams provide neither benefit to the fans.

    Better than even odds, yes. They define mediocrity-and that’s even worse than being good or bad. And it’s boring. Enjoy the rest of the game.

    I’ve enjoyed some of the games and a handful of individual performances this year. But there have been way too many brain dead mistakes in the field and underperforming bums this year to make the season remotely enjoyable. It can’t end soon enough.

    They have understandably given up. They are playing like they just want to go home.

    Welcome to the race to the bottom. Ordinarily the Flops should lose this game-but not against the Yankees.

    Tank time! Best to lose every remaining game. Shouldn’t be too much of a problem since the entire team has given up.
