    I agree. They shouldn’t have put the players (and the fans) in limbo. It’s a slap in the face for the players and it’s got to be demoralizing for them. Not sure who they could have traded for someone valuable in the future but what they did was indecisive.

    They recognized that this team isn’t salvageable. So why waste prospects and talent on a list cause? I agree with their decision for this year.

    Two more years. We will have to put up with this kind of team through 2024. After that if Henry can’t give the fans a competitive team he needs to sell the franchise. Right now we are the worst team in the division. Even the Yankees will probably finish ahead of us. Just hold your nose for two more years.

    We do have reinforcements on the way but I think that the four teams ahead of us in the division-and maybe even the Yankees-are better than we are. We all knew that this was likely this year.

    Just tuned in to see that the game is almost over already. This team is absolutely not talented enough to make the playoffs. By the end of the day they will be your LAST PLACE BOSTON RED FLOPS

    Here’s the deal: I don’t mind losing games but when we get behind by a lot of runs early or play like unfocused idiots it’s not entertaining for me. If the players don’t care why should we? Today was entertaining at least and except for the dumb play by Urias the team seemed focused.

    I hate it when I am the optimist here! There’s almost two months of baseball left and we are only three games out. Sure, it would have been nice to win this game but there’s a lot of baseball left-and reinforcements are on the way.

    There’s still plenty of time to catch the Jays. And reinforcements are on the way. But realistically we aren’t as good as the O’s or the Rays. The best we could hope for is grabbing the last playoff spot then getting an early exit.

    Would you want them to trade away some top prospects in a futile attempt to make this team good? Two years. They could compete for a ring in two years.

    I think the announcers said that the pen has the 8th best ERA in baseball.

    Bloom gave up on this team. Wake was commenting on it earlier. The need for pitching was obvious and Bloom did nothing to address it. He knows that the team isn’t competitive so why surrender any prospects at all? Wake said it sends a clear message to the players, which it does. Unfortunately the message is accurate.
