  1. I cant agree more. With Ells and Vic both in the lineup it will be hard predict the 2013 lineup. I seen Bill James predictions for Vic i just hope he can hit a lil higher than the predictions and have a high OBP. Where do you think Vic and Ells will hit a700?
  2. Ok i was just wondering what everyone has heard the past few weeks where Victorino will hit in this lineup. Is Ellsbury gonna hit 1st or is Victornio going to lead off I myself would like to see Ellsbury slotted in at the 3rd spot hitting between Peedy and Napoli i think that would be a better fit so he can show off his power and take a little of the pressure of getting on base and stealing 2nd may keep him off the dl a little more as well. Also i think if Victorino can hit for average and steal around 30 and draw a lot of walks id just let him hit leadoff. I think the lineup will be more RHH/LHH balanced with Victorino at the top. But that is a big "IF" Vic has to hold his own to allow Farrell to move Ells down the order.
  3. If Wilson dont go back to the Giants which i still think he does, the dodgers would prolly be the most likely suitor for him. I like Wilson better than Hanrahan, i know he has injury problems but i think he has more upside than Hanrahan. I know im gonna get alot of people thinking im crazy in thinking that but i keep going back to seeing Hanrahan blowing a couple of saves early in the year and Bailey becoming the teams closer. I know its a lil far fetched but i think it takes some seasoning in the hardcore AL lineups for a closer to go thru several times to become elite. After Han signing i dont see the red sox adding another righty, they may add another lefty tho
  4. I agree he would definitely be reinforcement for our?marked rotation, but im wondering if the front office is looking at the current rotation as it stands to be a bridge to if anyone goes down with injuries which is bound to happen it always does that a prospect will get called up so he can get big league experience. I think Marcum would be a nice fit and give most of us more peace of mind but i also like the idea of giving the young guys a shot... Oakland does it year and year... i know they dont spend like the sox and have to bring the guys up when FA pitchers leave.. What im saying is if it works for them giving kids a chance id say lets see what they are made of.
  5. I seen on MLB Tonight that Jon Heyman believes the Red Sox are in on Kyle Lohse. Has anyone seen any reports that the Sox have talken to him and did the Cardinals issue him a qualifying offer which would send them a draft pick. I figured the Sox were right at the Salary Cap limit so i dont see where his salary would fit unless a trade would be made to clear payroll and he is a Boras client i do believe correct me if im wrong. As bad as i hate to say it i dont see Lohse putting up as good of numbers as Dempster will in the AL East i think a Parcello or a Marcum would be a much better option than overpaying for Lohse. Also does anyone know how many years and how much Lohse is acting for? and what could Marcum be signed for?
  6. I agree that the trade that brought Bailey in was not good for us in no sense of the imagination. But i do think this years team can use Bailey altough i do think with Joel Hanrahan in the mix he very well could be expandable. But i wouldnt be so quick to move him unless he is traded for a front or middle of the rotation arm, id like a deal with the Tigers to send Bailey and get Rick Parcello back. The Tigers seem to want to move him and they need a closer so a trade between the two would make sense. But i have to admit that im on a wait and see basis with Hanrahanas the appointed closer. Going from the NL Central to coming in to face loaded lineups in the AL East is gonna be a rude awaking for him. I have a funny feeling that maybe after April if Bailey is still around he moves to the 9th and Hanrahan moves to the 8th. Im just keeping my fingures crossed that Hanrahan is not our next Bobby Jenks. Its a given that the 2013 Red Sox bullpen is gonna be a strength if not the best in the majors baring any injuries ofcourse which is gonna happen always has and always will but the the rotation can actually hold leads or keep the score close to a run or two then the bullpen has the potential to be locked down and hold leadss and allow a late inning ralley win for the offense to take ahold of. I think one more arm needs to be added to the rotation to ssay it is complete. I dont have alot of faith in Dempster Lackey
  7. I think the Nap deal gets done too. With everyone else signing with other clubs or on the verge the FO better hope it gets done
  8. Delay until past Xmas!!! Wow now all of us will have the same thing on our minds while eating Xmas dinner... "Who is involved in the deal!!!" Please someone leak something about the swap
  9. Any word on who the trade involves exactly?
  10. I would not trade Doubrant... Iggy is a definite maybe but i think the FO wants to put him in the minors for a lil while and see how he hits and its kinda his last shot to prove if he can be the SS of the future. Xander is clipping right on his heels. Also if Iggy was traded id rather see him in a package for a starting pitcher rather than a closer Plus i would rather see the sox give Bailey a chance to see what hes got plus bring in Brain Wilson would would be cheaper than Hanrahan... if Bailey cant cut it have a closer by committee during the first half and then when Wilson is ready let him take over the nineth
  11. Is it speculated that Bogaerts will be ready for the bigs next year?
  12. I hope they get this deal with Napoli deal sooner rather tha later This is a bad look for the red sox in signing FA in the future Also i have seen on here people talking about moving Middlebrooks to 1B if this deal falls through with Napoli, can WMB play first?
  13. Thats what i was thinking plus gomes is virtually the same player as Ross... i liked ross over victorino anyday of the week but vic is already signed and appers to be the right fielder for the next 3 years so it is what it is there... id like more production from the right fielder and also the left fielders we have in house.. i think we have missed out on extremely productive players to sign overpaid guys to be a good clubhouse with very little drama. But no drama may be in the clubhouse but i but after the month of april and the sox are in last place the drama will be the media killing ownership for making the signings they made this offseason and want answers which i think fans we are entitled to. In times like this i sometimes miss Theo... Theo may have overpaid for guys but was quick and to the point with players instead of nickel and diming players and getting players off the bottom shelf and paying them like they are middle of the tier players when all are on the wrong side of 30
  14. I just read where Ben said that a Cody Ross returning to Boston was still not out of the question. I really dont know what to think of that statement. Ross and Gomes have shown about the same splits so a return of Ross seems to me like no return is possible i just really dont know where ben is coming from on this I know Ross would like to come back but what is his asking price?
  15. Well said agree 100%
  16. Im glad LaRoche is waiting soo long. I like his defense at 1Bthe and he would be a more solid addition as far as defense goes but i think napoli would have better power #s infor fenway and a lineup with LaRoche might make it a lil too lefthanded Vic Peedy Ells Ortiz Middlebrooks LaRoche Gomes/Kalish Salty/Ross Drew I also can see farrell sloting ells into the 3rd spot to see if he gets his power back
  17. Instead of Garza i would rather trade for Rick Parcello. A trade with Theo would be hard to swing because he would want one or two of the B's and i wouldnt waste any B on Garza the only way Theo would get ahold of a B is a trade for Rizzo but the more and more i read about Rizzo he is the 1B in chicago for years to come Parcello has been mentioned to be dangled by the tigers to be on the block so i think boston should atleast have a talk about acquiring him. he would be a solid #3 starter in boston if not a #2 depending on how buch does this year i think a trade for parcello would still not make the rotation the elite staff in AL East but i do think they could do deep enough in games to not wear the bullpen out too early Also speaking of the bullpen i think brian wilson need to get mentioned coming to boston. Not sure how close he is to being ready to help a team at the start of the season but would definitely be ready for an all star break addition for help going down the stretch
  18. Agreed. This is gonna make FA not want to come to bean town also even with contractual language a player can still get around the language and go on the DL and still get paid I wished they would figure something out with Napoli if not go after Swisher or LaRoche just do something the longer and longer this goes on i think the nap deal will fall thru and both swisher and laroche will be off the board so then what will the sox do
  19. Ok i agree with that... they many not have the motivation but i would like to see a deal reached Does anyone know if anyone of the prospects has the upside of what rizzo has
  20. Why do you say they have motivation to make a trade for a 1B like Rizzo Given i do agree he is a guy that you could build a team around potential the Napoli deal has dragged out to the point where an announcement of the deal falling through would surprise no one, Rizzo used to be in our system and if the AGon deal had not happened he would be our starter at first Does boston have a prospect with the power numbers that Rizzo can put up coming up through the minors?
  21. 2013 Rizzo Predictions from fangraphs: .283avg 33hrs 109rbi to be exact
  22. I would like to see a bold trade between the sox and the cubs... package a deal that would bring anthony rizzo back to the sox... i wished the AGon deal would not have involved him... but you cant blame the padres asking for him in the deal Famgraphs is predicting him to hit .280+ avg 30+hrs 100 rbis i would rather him at 1B for the next several years than napoli for three
  23. 2013 cap is set at $189million correct? Or is it $178million
  24. Are the Red Sox really kicked around the idea of Santana or is this a presumed upgrade trade that someone thinks should happen but the two teams are not talking about it
