  1. Locker against Jacksonville looks like a good matchup.
  2. Salty at 3/24 is pretty reasonable.
  3. McCann, Napoli, Pedroia, Bogaerts, Middlebrooks, Nava, Victorino,.Gonzalez, Ortiz would be my moves.
  4. Ross probably isn't an everyday catcher at this stage in his career.
  5. The Dodgers
  6. Kennum or Big Ben?
  7. That Stephen Drew hasn't been around in four.years. He's an injury prone average SS with maybe three interested suitors.
  8. Drew accepts the QO, which gives the Red Sox about $28 million left to spend. Ellsbury is going to command $20 million at least. Signing him would leave only $8 million to fill catcher and first base.
  9. 3/36 for Drew is probably the absolute minimum someone would have to bid to get him to reject the QO.
  10. I think Ellsbury's tenure in Boston ended the moment they offered Drew the QO.
  11. Ellsbury would have to be very stupid to accept a QO. He'd be leaving at least $86 million on the table.
  12. Those people have a different definition of ace than you do.
  13. It's been discussed to death, but I don't see any other fits for Drew.
  14. Pencil Drew at SS, Bogaerts at 3B.
  15. The one year upgrade from Buchholz to Shields probably isn't worth Cecchini and Owens. I'd trade those two for a player that we could have on our roster for multiple years.
  16. I think Bradley, Owens, and Ranaundo grabs their attention. Slide Victorino to CF.
  17. Lester has just one year of control left. Rockies won't want him. Also, Lackey was arguably the MVP of the rotation. Why trade him?
  18. Trade for Carlos Gonzalez.
  19. Also, I'd love to see Stanton on this team. Give him 7/140 instead of Ellsbury (assuming we are able to trade and extend him)
  20. I'd like to see them trade for Carlos Gonzalez, resign Napoli, and sign McCann. However, I can't really make any serious projections until after the QO period.
  21. The only way Ellsbury hits 20 HR's next year is if MLB expands a franchise to the Moon.
  22. Why do you think Salty, Drew, and Napoli should get qualifying offers?
  23. Any previous examples come to mind?
  24. Red Sox don't have that kind of money. I think they have about $42 million to spend.
