  1. Kelly - pen - now! I know the Cy Young is hard to win from there.
  2. Sox not doing a lot of things the right way.
  3. Brought in as offensive upgrades they both have struggled at times (Panda and H-Ram). I think what gets me the most, is yes both have under performed with the bat, but the poor D at 3B and LF kills me. Between the two of them how many unearned runs are they responsible for?
  4. If we are going to lose I rather let the kids play. E Rod gives hope about building a rotation. Let Swihart continue to get most of the innings behind the plate. Bogaerts is starting to show signs. Even though the average isn't there Betts gives you a lot. Nap and Ramirez no longer fit. I don't know if a contender would take Ramirez as a right handed power bat at DH. Sox pick up some of the money maybe something could get done. My eyes hurt watching him play left. Routine fly balls have become adventures. Nap is on final year of contract and just looks lost. If B. Johnson is ready for a shot do so. Kelly as a starter is not working. A guy who can throw gas for one inning would be a plus at the back end of the bullpen.
  5. This team is hard to watch right now. One night they can't score, and the next ten runs isn't enough. If Betts goes on the DL do they give JBJ a real look? Kelly needs to go to the bullpen as a power arm. He can't put enough innings together to be a starter. It is painful to watch Ramirez in left! He makes Manny look like a gold glover. How can someone who played shortstop (Very athletic position) look so lost? It is going to be a long summer!
  6. This is going to be another player that the Sox will move from his natural position. If he isn't going to play second for them, move him now. Its hard watching these guys learn to play positions while in Boston.
  7. This team doesn't get the two out hits to score. Now that it is getting warmer this team has to start scoring more runs. The Sox pitching is not going to win too many 3-2 games.
  8. He is on the DL already with the A's.
  9. The last week or so Holt has cooled a little. It is why he is not a regular.
  10. He needs to hit the ground running now that he is finally in Boston. The Sox need an offensive spark.
  11. Pitching is what needs to be stockpiled. The walks this staff gives up are killing them.
  12. I know Farrell is on thin ice. The team is not playing good baseball.
  13. On the positive, as bad as they have been they are only 4 1/2 games out.
  14. Angels where struggling to score runs until last night. It is pretty hard to know what you are going to get from these guys on a night to night basis. Starting pitching needs to improve or the Sox will quickly sink to the bottom of a very weak division.
  15. Its something different every night. Last night Porcello looked great in the first three innings. Then all #@%$#@ hit the fan. Most nights you score 5 runs off Richards you have a chance to win the game. All parts of their game have been up and down. There is not one thing that are keeping them from winning. The only thing you can hang your hat on as no one in the division looks great right now.
  16. Farrell shacking up the lineup tonight. I know you are not going to win too many games when your cleanup hitter has zero RBIs in the month of May. As bad as things are they are only 4and a half games back of a Rays who everyone knows are not going to distance themselves from the pack. The AL East division winner may not win 90 games.
  17. Its the Phillies! Now do that this weekend against the $panks then we can talk.
  18. I think with power numbers down that the SB will become more important to teams. The SB is very disruptive to pitchers and to have a guy or two that can do that can only help a team. Hitters shouldn't mind because a distracted pitcher has a better chance of making a mistake.
  19. You got to believe that the Sox think a better defense behind him will mean a lower ERA. I was a little surprised when I saw the Sox extended Porcello after reading so much about him going to FA and not negotiating during the season. From the Sox's perspective they are betting that Porcello is a top of the staff pitcher that will eat some innings. Plus the four years are prior to him turning 30. From Porcello's perspective he has to feel comfortable in Boston and may feel that with so many pitchers becoming FA at the end of the season he doesn't want to get lost in the crowd.
  20. I was told during the off season he was your 2015 Cy Young winner. Lets stay healthy first. I don't know what we have because the guy can't stay on the field.
  21. They still don't have the power arms that some bullpens have. I thought Barnes might be one, but he is starting season in AAA. I hope the Sox have enough in the pen, or this could be along season with a lot of high scoring games.
  22. Sox need 2013 Victorino. If they get 2014 version then Castillo will get the job. I do think regardless what Victorino does this season it will be Castillo's job in 2016.
  23. If Sox don't hit like everyone believes they will this could be a long season. The hope for the Sox would be some of the teams with #1 in their walk years get off to poor starts and look to trade these guys. Until then I hope the Sox get enough from these guys to stay in contention. I think the only one that is 100% up to the task is Porcello. I think he will get 15 to 17 wins. Unfortunely, the talk of him being one and done with the Sox are already starting.
  24. I think at some point we see Swihart in 2015. Hanigan will be fine defensively, and they don't need much with his bat. I don't now much about Leon, but if these backups don't make the cut we could see a few until the Sox deem Swihart ready. If he comes up and takes off Vazquez may not get a shot to be the every day catcher in 2016.
  25. I could see where Betts, Bradley, and Castillo could end up starting in the outfield for the Sox at some point during the 2015 season. Ramirez and Victorino will be on the DL at some point, or Papi could finally start showing his age and Ramirez would become the DH opening up LF. Unless Bradley is used to get a true #1 starter I would not sell low with him. His stroke has looked better this spring and his glove is priceless.
